Just a question. In the material plane, what kind of state it in? Does it have a day/night cycle, water, etc. Or do we have to create everything from the ground up?

I think they are just in a state of building planets and galaxies.

The  Materium is a black formless void surrounded by a wall of light, with a desert separated by a shore. Currently the only light comes from my god in the center of the Materium, resting.

Oh and there's night animals.

@Jaas: Sorry to be a spoil-sport, but those three are waaaayyy to OP for create populace. A populace is basically a D&D mortal race with no magic or powers of godhood, like the power levels of Dwarves, Elves, Shadow-beings...ghosts, etc.

Oh, they won't have much power outside of their own plane, and Gods would of course will be more powerful then them. If you look at the notes in Purgatory the Gods who use create land will be able to influence any way they want and that precedes these beings.
