They managed to hit your head?

Things that I've had happen:
Once I accidentally made them tiny, (size 0) and every single thing was pretty much lethal damage, which indicates that something of sufficient size MAY be able to damage them.

Additionally, while at current size (that of bronze colossus), while fighting a bronze colossus, it managed to severe one of my fingers somehow. This is probably due to fingers being small, which supports the above theory.

This indicates that if one were to strike with something ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE, like a full grown giant sperm whale corpse, they might be able to actually be harmed. Though given max regen rate, it would have to be severed or otherwise broken beyond repair to actually do much of anything.

I take it arrows/bolts don't have much impact on these guys?  Adamantine armor does next-to-nothing against arrows, but I suppose that a creature made of solid adamantine might fare better?

I feel like I need to test this.  If normal arrows won't work, then maybe slade will do the trick?

Yeah, in my experience, the arrows all bounce off harmlessly, like shooting superman with bullets...except one time i actually PUNCHED a bolt out of the air as it flew at me. Never encountered someone who had access to STEEL arrows though, so that might be it...or maybe they critical hit you...idk...we must test this, for !!Science!!

Creating a creature that's completely and totally unkillable and then finding it difficult to kill isn't exactly unforseen.
Even masterwork? How does quality affect weapons?
Master Quality adds a to-hit/to-block multiplier to weapons and gives them the maximum sharpness possible for the material, armor gets a deflection bonus.

Well see, what was unforseen was them being immune to damage from EACH OTHER, and filling out all the megabeast population resulting in no other megabeasts.

In retrospect it seems obvious, but at the time I didn't realize that. Additionally, I have since removed the megabeast tag from them, so I can fight rocs and stuff.

So we have found a weakness? about time, but can it kill them?

You fought a "dust throwing diety"...nice...(im assuming thats a worshipped forgotten beast) i got two blob monster titans made of snow in the same world...ugh...

We must test other potential methods of getting killed as one/killing one. So it seems we have "steel arrows" as a potential method of death, if only through sustained fire.

Someone try a steel ammo ballista.

So... killing these things in adventure mode? Too bad I don't have my comp to try personally.

Already mentioned ideas that would probably work:
1) Icing. As in, getting them to swim in -50 degrees Celsius.
2) Throwing. High wrestling skill and strength should allow you to smash it against a wall hard enough.

My ideas, without more modding:
-Lashers. An army of lashers. We know those things can chip many things, though I guess candy whips are hard to come by.
-One big, big fall. This is basically like throwing mentioned above, but easier: Find a big mountain and... THIS IS SPARTAAAA!
-Have you tried throwing something ungodly big and heavy at them? A bunny can dislodge a BC's head, what's the chance of it not working on Adamantine Colossi? Slade is preferred, but unavailable in this category (but in the category below...)

With Modding:
-A very big, very heavy weapon. Great sword or hammer. Preferably larger than the race itself.
-I doubt this, but perhaps a weapon with ice damage might work, if fire won't.
-My favourite: Counter them with a recruitable race; SUPERMASSIVE SPONGES! With a size of 5000x an AC, this should work. If you get them to work on ground. Or it might just end up in an epic battle that never ends. But we all know that ACs could die, while sponges... are more like viruses: They don't live, thus can't be killed.

Final conclusion: Bigger is better... we need shrink rays!

Honestly, I'd like to hear ANY way you can think of to kill them (aside from the obvious, mod in a BIGGER adamantine colossus to kill them with, though I guess if all else fails, that's the answer)

Edit:
Have any of you managed to kill one/get killed as one yet? I am very interested in hearing of your tales.

Additionally, research on my necrowerepire would be much appreciated as well.
(yes, that is exactly what it sounds like)

A gun which launches large serrated discs at insane velocities will kill them:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
For this trial, I made the discs out of slade:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I also found that steel  and adamantine work fine too.  I believe cutting a colossus's head off requires something with a very large contact area (such as a massive disc), and an insane amount of momentum (hence the ridiculous number of zeros added after SHOOT_FORCE and SHOOT_MAXVEL).  As noted, depending on what the exact units for DF velocities are, this weapon may shoot discs faster than the speed of light...

Perhaps not what you guys had in mind, but it works.  Quite well, in fact  :P.

Well, it's something at least, so so far we have for things that can kill them:
instant death (freeze in river, cave in, etc)
objects that move faster than the speed of light
steel arrow headshot by (possible, yet to be fatal)

we must collect more data, for science!
