So, here's a vaguely related question I've been pondering for a while: Would it be profitable and plausible for a company like ThinkGeek to produce Dwarf Fortress-related stuff and get permission from Toady to do so? And what kind of stuff would it be?

I would pay $200 for a Code Page 437 typewriter.

It would somehow have 256 keys (okay, 255 since there are two blank spaces) cut in the exact style of DF's font.

You could type up scenes from the game without a computer.

Come on, there's got to be a niche market for this, especially given how many games use the curses_640x300 font (not just DF, right?). And we have the technology to make a ridiculously complex typewriter nowadays, I'm sure.

Why can people only think of socks? I'd buy a T-shirt with a screenshot from Boatmurdered or something on it, captioned something like "I hope you like miasma!"

I think Toady has stated before that he didn't want to do merchandise because of the logistics and possible lack of revenue involved, but another company managing all of that for him might not be a problem.

I'd love an official DF shirt.
