Has anyone done this? Would it fill up the circus and kill all the clowns?

Well I'm going to try in the later years of my ocean side fort, but if anyone has done this please do tell.

Think about it - the region you're talking about is filled with bottomless chasms, so by definition it would be impossible to fill it up. Even if you did, its inhabitants are immune to drowning.

Don't bother trying magma either - they're immune to that too.

I've flooded many forts before because when you drain from the bottom of the ocean there is so much pressure it flooded the fort within seconds.

It makes me think I can flush the toilet that is the circus.

But when the time comes i'll be knocking on Bobo's door, and what better way to knock then half an ocean.

Perhaps, but I have a top end computer that will probably come self aware. So will FPS drop be a result of my computer specs or the DF program.

It doesn't matter how big of a hose you have - it's impossible to fill a bottomless container. The result would be the same as draining the ocean into an aquifer or a fortification drain - your FPS will drop below 1 for a while (depending on how large your ocean is, it could be for at least an hour), and when the game starts responding again, it'll be running very slowly due to the massive quantities of water flowing toward the drain.

Water does in fact push thing.

If you dump a clothed goblin in a pool, drown it, and pump the water out, the flowing water will push the objects towards the pump. Also, if you walk around a beach in adventure mode, the waves can push you around.

As I understand it (and I'm not technical savvy in the least) the most memory DF can possibly use is 4 gigs, so it doesn't really matter how top-end your computer is. It's a limit of the language the game was written in. Heard it remarked that to use more, Toady would have to completely rebuild the game in 64-bit.

If you empty the ocean, they will just fly out and kill you anyway.
