I say fix and keep the mining charge. It could prove a useful get-out-of-jail card

You start your negotiations with the expedition leader. They negotiations are rather though, and in the end this is the man's final offer. 15% on the profit of the endeveaur, but you get to keep the loot of any of the pirate ship's you down during the mission.
Cheap piece of scrap! I say we take it anyway. We need a quest!

Yay to the simplification of the system!

1) Agree for 15%, It's still a lot
2) Let pirates join us
3) Hire up to 10 unskilled youngsters who look like the guys (or girls) that look like the ones ready to spend large chunk of their life in space.  Would be IC for our former team of scavengers to aid various poor port workers to find better life like we did (One possible category to help = port prostitutes, Diana was one at some point of her career and would be happy to help other girls)

And one thing that I'd like to do. Write up our agenda.
No clear idea but, something along that lines

a) We are group of space travelers who value their own freedom.
b) All decisions are taken in democratic way, we have no clear leader and our fleet is in joined ownership of the crew(s)
c) We aren't criminals and don't engage in piracy or assassinations
d) But we aren't  government's dogs either
e) We fight piracy and other criminals to make the universe better.
f) But we don't turn captured criminals in, as justice system is corrupt, unjust and cruel. If someone is so bad that can't be released we execute them by our own judgment.
g) Everyone is free to leave the ship in any port but he has no rights to demand anything from jointed ownership (but may receive it if crew decides so)
h) We don't pay salaries to the crew, ever.

In short: We are benevolent space communists!

You agree on the 15% sum. Like any good compromise, neither of the negotiators is happy, but anyway. The expedition will depart in 4 days, giving you a chance to fix up ends and other things that need to be done, or look for other interesting things around the station

You then start recruiting people on the station. Many of the poor there which to pick up a chance to get away, and you pick out the 10 best employees. You also take on the pirates, who gratefully show you the location of one of their hidden saves. Inside are 200 credits.

How are the two sector maps associated?

How are the two sector maps associated?
There's a 2 month voyage between them. (To the core, and to the rim respectively)

Though they are a bit outdated. Probably going to rework them soonish.

Use four fifths of the current supply to patch the holes in the armour, try to disguise where weaknesses exist.

I would like to have at least 600 fuel before setting off on a long trip, but that might not be possible. Well, I suppose that it is possible, but probably not legal...

I suspect that more medicine would be a good idea, and those food supplies look sad to me.

Try to get an externally-accessible section of the mining ship environmentally isolated so that it could be used as for quarantine.

Hydroponics cover something like 1\4 of our food needs and while that is not enough for healthy diet that will save us if thing will go badly

But question are

1) How long the expedition will take? My calculations show that we have something like 20 days worth food, that if hydroponics will not run into a problem
2) Will we visit any ports during the expedition?

As for how to spend 4 days:

1)Look for gas scooping equipment to install on our cargo shuttle, or try to make one ourself by buying parts. Also strengthen the shuttle, to make it able go closer to stars without melting down or surviving entry into more dense atmospheres. That may save our asses in some  fuel tight situations.

We have no need to patch holes, as we have none

Yep, outdated a bit. Holes would be like 10 missing (DV0). As it was after some combat

Attention humans! I've decoded the last message from Kadung. It appeared disappointingly simple at first:

Quote
[Starting Daily Report]

Ship production on shedual
-Requesting additional construction materials (Mainly chemicals)

All patrols report clear borders, no further infractions detected.

Civilian morale is good.

Requesting following civilian goods:
-------------------------(Message breaks of here)

Rather boring and standard interhuman communication.

However, the encoding has some odd patterns in it, unusual for such a simple message. So I inspected it closer and found a whole different level of code within the message! I have decoded this level as well. BEHOLD!!!

Quote
Protocol 23 Engaged. System lockdown. Code: H7K8D9A9I0D7 234 ...

That doesn't sound overly promising. Apparently "Protocol 23" is a cry for help and some sort of warning to anyone entering the system. Clearly, something BAD happened here. But I am unfamiliar with the particulars of "Code: H7K8D9A9I0D7 234."

I'm unsure how much of this we want to share with the other ships in this endeavor. It might spook them and cause them to back out on us. Perhaps we should keep this information to ourselves.

I would hope that I have proved my worth as a member of this team and I am requesting permission to come inside the ship. If you recall, I'm still strapped to the roof attached to a turret. As this mission sounds by far the most dangerous thing we've done so far, I'd feel much better about the whole thing inside the ship's armor.
