I'm going to have to go onto the boat that he's compensating for something. I mean all of those elves were male elves, and he does have the pointy ears.

Why's that? Maybe this particular elven civ only sends males into battle.

Or, they just default to male because it's the first gender on the list, and these elves started out as unspecified gender. Kind of the way an artifact turns into iron if you forbid the primary material.

From the stats, he's not a genocidal sociopath... merely a dwarven soldier to be held in highest esteem for his valor in conquest against the elves. It's not genocide if its against enemies-at-arms.
