It is possible to have hell on earth?
« on: September 02, 2012, 06:31:45 pm »

Well, i been thinking if is possible to do something like this:
-Clowns from a old fortress outside destroying villages and other stuff.
-A massive warfare between all the civilizations.
-A plague that makes people die slowly and then turn into a monster (something like Plaguebearers from ☼MASTERWORK☼)
-Tons of demons roaming around in the forest, waiting and hunting.

Well, i guess you get the idea of what i am saying, it is possible to do this?

Hell on earth? You obviously didn't play Dwarf Fortress Enough.
But anyways, this suggestion is a bit stupid, as dwarf fortress is already hell on earth, and if it would become even more difficult, then the game would be unplayable.

You would be surprised how hard it is to make DF unplayable.

"Not yet" :D

Seems like it's getting closer and closer to being able to do some of them, though. You'd have to do something special to set all the civs off, or change the race raws.

Demns don't leave the fortress they were spawned in. Why would they? They've got all the misery they could want right at home.

You are making me flash back to my horrible attempt to turn all civilizations except dwarves into Giant Cave Spiders...

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Okay, how about 16x16 embarks on all region tiles, Think that'll work? It won't effect mountanous areas and the like but It sure would be similar to the description. Then play adventure mode. :P

Well, that somehow makes them less scary. Maybe bogeys are just so scary, with their skull-smashing and such, that anything else makes them less scary.
Discuss.

I see them as the manifestation of the night, creatures that claim all the night wants as its own.
