Alright everyone, I've had this big problem with these creatures called "unknowns", I don't know how too kill them and if you have any tips or advice that'd be real helpful, thanks 

Edit: Alright I have some screen shots, and no I don't think im using a mod, I have the lazy newb pack, and when I look for a description,it always crashes my game...also, im just not very sure on how to add an image to this...

What... exactly is an "unkown?"  What is its description when you look at it, and are you using any mods?

It has normal body parts, but when I attack it "Goes right through it"

Body parts of a human, a dwarf, or an elf, just look at the photos, have you seen anything like it before?

"L"ook at 'em man.  Show us what the body parts are.  I don't know what a body part of a human elf or dwarf is, I assume you mean it has four limbs and a head, but look at it, what is the description.

However try adv. attacking it (A) to see what its bodypart components are.

Most likely this is a glaring bug, this happens in alot of games. It was notable in the Pokemon series for creating a new type of creature after the designers found glitched ones called missingno, aka missingnumber. Basically this is what happens when the games code gets wonky and uses non existent files for bodyparts and such, often making it unbeatable. Have !FUN!

Yeah, I doubt Pokemon and Dwarf Fortress have the same game code. 
I've never seen or heard of this before, are you using a modded version of DF?
