Transformation and one helluva hangover syndrome
« on: August 22, 2012, 01:38:18 pm »

Hi there,

Trying to generate a reaction at a workshop that will transform the worker. The key part is I want a syndrome that will create severe drainage and/or death on the worker after the transformation has worn off. I can see a way of doing this by making the transformation and death syndrome the same and having the latter start after the end of the former but am I right in thinking a transformation cancels out syndrome effects just like injuries? If so suggestions anyone?

Thanks!

I'm fairly sure it won't cancel out the syndrome as long as they're both part of the same syndrome, just add 1 time unit in between the de-transformation and the death effect. For death I recommend severe bleeding of all body parts and brain necrosis of an equally extreme degree, should finish the unlucky dorf off in a few seconds.

Alternatively, you could add a second transformation which turns them into a creature/caste without lungs.

Thanks for the suggestion - unfortunately having tried it in arena the syndrome only activates the transformation and not the massive bleeding and lung impairement I'd tried. I don't know whether this is due to the arena however.

Very good point! It'd still be great to have it in syndrome form since I'd like to develop this into a hangover type syndrome with all the applicable syndrome tags but that solves the baseline need! Think I'll create an interim caste with stat degradation to simulate the initial less than lethal syndrome effects I had planned and then have that escalate to your suggestion in time.

Even better, make their flesh out of a custom material that sublimates on contact with normal temperatures, so they evaporate in seconds.
