Why is everyone ignoring me? Did I do something wrong? Is it because I'm new? What?

You have made FIVE separate threads asking simple questions. Your fifth one, which was less than three hours ago, simply has not been replied to yet.

People aren't ignoring you.

Hello Lazarlatte.
My guess is, you're a bit too demanding of attention. The only post of yours, as far as I can see, that hasn't been answered is the one about the Corrosion mod. Which is not to say that it won't get answered in the nearest future. And even if not, then it seems more probable that it's just due to nobody knowing the answer, or noboy playing the mod being there around the time of posting to notice.
Anyhow, chill out a bit, and welcome to the forums.

Alas, I've been ninjaed by them darn ninjas. Darn.

Posting this thread has gotten you attention, but not the attention you'd like, I assure you.

While this is a moderately big forum, it's still a forum. You post messages and come back later to read replies. It is not a chat room where you can expect continuous conversation.

I was going to reply saying you should ask in the corrosion mod thread, but then I thought that might sound a bit too snarky for an escaped  lunatic so I thought better of it and instead waited for someone who used corrosion to show up.
So erm... Sorry?

Well, sorry if I'm too demanding of fast answers. It's just that on another forums for another of my fav' games I posted a question and *snap snap* answer, which I kinda got used to. Sorry :/

The rapidity of response mostly depends on the size of the forum, in terms of active members. This forum is rather medium-sized, meaning - in my experience - you'll usually get a reply within 12 hours but maybe not in the first hour.

Gameplay questions and DF discussion tend to give you those quick snappy answers, the adventure mode forum goes at a more steady pace since there are by size fewer adv. mode players than fortress mode players, and even less so for specific mods

Meanwhile in RP&FG you'll type a three line post and by the time you're done you'll have been ninja'd by half a dozen people.

Also, the DF subforums (The Upper Forums) and General Discussion/Life Advice/Forum Games (The Lower Forums) have fairly little user overlap. A thread posted here will likely not get the attention of many active DF players.

Pretty much, the people who play and actively participate in the Dwarf Fortress community will usually be on the upper forums meant for Dwarf Fortress (A few people being an exception.). People who don't really play it often are usually on the lower forums.
