The history about internet SJW is interesting.
Back in 2007 Anons raided a feminist website called WomensSpace. A user on that website caught her teenage son masturbating to porn one day and so went on a tirade about how he was a rapist that deserved death, and Anons that heard of it back then [and to this day] being chronic masturbators were enraged. A small flame war soon broke out between BitingBeaver [the mother], the Anons [the neckbeards] and various feminist blogs [some supported/against]. After the flame war ended, it didn't truly end as some of the feminists had followed goons back to the somethingawful forums [which back then were a small community of neckbeard Anons who were technically minded, some of /b/'s most impressive raids were actually orchestrated by goons with swarms of /b/tards used as shock troopers, though goons don't do much except form
hilarious game empires these days]. These feminists formed their own goon clique.
When the goons found reddit, they intended to create /SRS/ to piss off everyone else on the website, and so began quoting marx and spouting leftist propaganda. However, the number of goons who believed the propaganda soon outnumbered the trolls and so /SRS/ grew to become a formidable trolling force on reddit. They would attack ordinary users of that site and claim the moral high-ground, saying they were bullying the bullies and falling back on claims of satire when called out for doing what they were accusing others of doing.
In short, lol I troll you.
This is also around the year when the argument that prejudice = bigotry + power arose, allowing for the logical justification of the moral hypocrisies /SRS/ began. /SRS/ also did something that would heavily impact reddit, in that since reddit was made up of a different demographic than the Anons from 4chan and Somethingawful [see neckbeards], this was for most of them, their first taste of trolling. This snowballed /SRS/ from being some peculiar troll group to a serious social justice movement.
/SRS/ would first begin securing its own foothold in reddit before looking outwards. This would begin a series of conflicts against other internet groups, starting with r/ainbow. The way reddit is set up is that the mods hold massive power, and frequently get involved with the users, capable of banning without reason, delete posts and change forum rules on a whim. /SRS/ had gotten themselves onto the mods team in r/LBGT and began spreading the ideology of the oppression privilege, and concluded with /SRS/ telling the various traps, trans and gays that they were homophobic and misogynistic tools of the patriarchy, before banning them from their own forum. This led to the creation of r/ainbow, which has grown to 2/3rds size of /SRS/.
Much like Anons occasionally meddled in meatspace affairs for social justice, such as finding the killers of kittens and OWS, /SRS/ dabbled in their own social justice actions too. They created the subreddit called "Against Men's Rights" and from there attacked MRA's and doxxed their websites outside of reddit. They also tried to get SPLC to declare all MRA groups as hate groups which sought for nothing more than to attack women.
Laurelai demanded that Lulzsec attack targets on SRS's enemy list, and when they refused to agree to her blackmail their chatlogs were sent to the FBI.
On OWS they took over some of the camps, implementing the progressive stack where the more oppressed groups were given voices and the closer you got to being straight, white and male, the less you were cared about. Any attempts at forming a coherent goal or leadership was oppression, and alongside difficulty keeping everyone united, parts of the economic protest became a social justice protest and dissolved.
After about half a decade since its creation /SRS/ looked to spread its ideology to sites like 4chan. They chose one of the largest boards that was the polar opposite to itself, /pol/. /pol/ stands for politically incorrect, and whereas /SRS/ is extreme-left with an emphasis on political correctness and social marxism, /pol/ fluctuates between extreme-right fascism or small-government libertarianism alongside political incorrectness, conservative religious fundamentalism [Islam or Christianity] or [anti-]Zionism optional. Whereas /SRS/ has mod power, /pol/ has no mods.
/SRS/ has spammed /pol/ with porn raids whilst attempting to play up racial insecurities. They also tried to create false flag attacks on other boards, claiming to be from /pol/ to incite conflict, namely against the other populous boards like /v/idyas, much like Anons would go around on raids pretending to be from the 9gag army. There is controversy as to whether or not /SRS/ had any role with the fall of /lit/, but it's much more likely that /SRS/ had simply adopted it as a board after it had already fallen, it was a slow board full of too many named attention seekers. /SRS/ can also be seen in /LGBT/, where they failed to take root and galvanized the gays and traps there of their hatred for feminism, and have since moved to /soc/ with frequent forays back.
