None. Physical death isn't the issue, it's the death of the self. The only reason our shells dying matters is because our self is (for the moment) inexorably linked to our body. If you could work out reincarnation with persistence of self (which would obviously require always reincarnating as a sentient being similar enough to your original form for your mind to fit properly), all would be well.
Hereditary is a thing you know. Your children will have some of your 'nature', as opposed to 'nurture' when you die, so that carries on.

Good news for people who like reincarnation, turns out it is true.
But yeah. I'd be really happy with nonexistence. Sounds nice, t'me.

Oh, you think I am not serious?  :P Ye of little faith.
Reincarnation was defined as passing on ones genetic traits (described as 'inbuilt nature') onto a new life form. How is that not pretty simple genetics? Please, enlighten me, where did I go wrong?

I am totally serious about looking forward to nonexistence.

Facepalm away, Fen. Of after-death experiences "nothing" is definitely my top rated one. I'm hoping to not be disappointed.

By definition, it can't be bad.

No matter what, there's no believable post-death scenario that I think would be bad.  The only reason I want to put it off for as long as possible, is because I don't see myself running out of stuff to do with this life for hundreds of years at least.  Boredom is what happens when other people hijack my time.

And as Woody Allen so eloquently put it:  "I'm not afraid of death.  I just don't want to be there when it happens."

See, that's just the thing. I'd take "bad" over "null" as far as after-death experiences go.

Fenrir, I was being less than serious with the reincarnation bits.

For me it would be just how bad weighed against the likelihood of ever moving on to something better.  If I were confined to an eternal agony by the personification of the universe itself and the most likely means of escaping were to unravel the laws of the universe and become non-existent (looking at you christianity), then just let me skip to non-existence.

But that's not a believable scenario.  None of the negative post-death possibilities I've encountered make very much sense.

I'm pretty ok with my own mortality. I have a finite time, and then only legacy... I like that.
Oblivion over agony any day.

Even in an "eternal agony at the whim of the infinite creator" type scenario, I'd still prefer that to nonexistence because I would still have the capacity to hope.

We just need to wait until Jackie Chan amasses enough power to overthrow tyrannical God.
