I came into this thread to see poeple being idoits and instead I got people talking about halluncations...we are the best forums. I do kinda want to try a halluncatiory drug to see what my imangination can cook up but I don't think I will ever follow throught with that plan.

I think it might be time to bow out when I don't even recognize the names of the (sub)(sub)(sub)(sub)genres being discussed. It's like listening to a passionate HC/metal fan identify minute differences between nearly identical sounds. Worse than discussion of orchestral music in one of the most annoying areas, that.

Me and 2 Christian classmates were having a discussion about religion.

I decided to quote silly things in the Bible (foreskins save lives!), and they thought I was crazy, after all, the Bible wouldn't contain silly things. Right, right?
I decided to take this a little further and ask them "how many wise old men visited Jesus?" They answered "3". I asked them for their sources and they said they heard it in a Christmas song, and they asked if I was a Jehovah's Witness (ouch!).

But the actual stupid thing is this: I asked the girl "Do you believe in Darwin's theory of evolution?"

The reply [paraphrasing]: "No idea what's that, but if it's a Christian thing I believe in it"

"No, it's a scientific thing."

"Then no."

mfw.

(For the record, the same girl got the highest for Biology.)

As I recall, the passages about the whole "Bronze-age goatherders code of morality" tend to get referenced much more heavily than the "be a good person" ones, especially when people are trying to justify bigotry.
