I think BBC is time-delaying it outside of the UK (otherwise they'd probably get sued by NBC for pre-empting them)

They're still upset about that whole 1776-1781 thing. 

And yeah, you can bet your bubble and squeak that NBC is paying through the nose for broadcast rights. Which means they'd rather jealously fight any attempts by competitors to pre-empt their coverage, even online.
