We'll see, doing Gnomish raids properly is probably more than what going to make it in soon, since I'm still really in a testing/fixing phase.

1.27 (unreleased)
* Damasc crafts properly uses METALCRAFT skill
* Damasc 2nd wolfram option FORGE_MORNSTAR_ORC (morningstar)
* Removed orc access to Padded gear (mostly redundant, some of it layers oddly)
* Olog are a caste of thick-skinned brutes from the deepest mountains, slow to learn most tasks.  They are deadly with blunt weapons, and surprisingly fond of working quietly with stone or jewels.
* Spelled "Taiga" correctly about 60 or 70 more times than before (this might have broken MDF's copy of the "warband" embark profile w.r.t. the t<ia>ga sabrecat)
* Vibroblade requires a large gem rather than barbedwire
* Balance: Domestic Society weapon codices require only *one* large gem

Do these orcs call themselves tiaga orcs because they are such bad spellers? There's an idea: Have all the normal caste descriptions contain tons of misspellings, but dream walkers get normal spelling.

Ninja'd, smale just said that he changed the spelling. Maybe you ought to have the Uruk caste, at least, be misspelled.

Anyone have any reports good bad or otherwise on any of the itemsyndrome components (i.e. "magic armor")?
arcane weapons or shards, sappers' weapons, dreamcatchers, warrior society masks.  even fletcher's upgraded arrows.

There are now some Orc Fortress pages on the Masterwork namespace of the DF magmawiki! Many thanks to wiki admin Locriani for setting this up for us.

Orcfort vets, if you feel like filling anything in, go for it.  Stay in the Masterwork namespace of course and try to link back to, for example

or other "Hub" type pages like Orcish_workshops, as appropriate.  If anyone wanted to make copies of some of the most useful vanilla pages (metals, weapons, whatever) and copy them over to our namespace with some placeholders for the key new info that would be awesome.

If I may make a small request...  (Well, maybe not small, I am not sure how difficult this is actually.)

Could you add some sort of concubine caste to the orcs? 

I do really like breeding my own tribes...  Also, it seems strange to me that Dwarfs have more slaves than Orcs...  :-D

Also, I found out why I didn't get any strange moods happening in my Orc fort - I didn't have enough Orcs to trigger them (for some reason I got stuck at 16 Orcs, I think because I was working them so hard they didn't have time to breed).

Meh, sorry, I dunno.  I'm not against it neccessarily, but not something I plan to do in the short term. (it's not totally a small project, although since Meph's implementation is there to copy from, I guess it wouldn't be hugely difficult). 

But, from a gameplay mechanism point of view I thought that female Dreamwalkers having big families is more interesting.  I know not everyone seems to agree but what can you do  8)

I always have a ton of orclings whether or not I want them.

I am no expert on orc fort but I would love to share what little I have learned in the week or so of playing, such as, it is very inefficient to play like you are playing vanilla. Unfortunately it will have to wait until I'm at a computer that I can type at... Using a tablet is super annoying.
