So... how can I use my dwarven captives? "Dwarf mines in exchange for booze" does nothing.

Um, I dunno.  I have used it a lot, including where it is documented alluded to ;) in the tutorial fort, where it was the main source of metals I used for a year or so.

"Does nothing" isn't enough info to help me debug anyway.  (the reaction is red and can't be activated?  the reaction stays in queue and no one does it?  orc brings booze but you get no reagents? etc.)  ... Also, what version?  1.02 packaged with MDF 2h; or some version of the 1.2x beta?

Maybe ... well, tbh I'll have to learn what it (the siren) actually does first :)

It wakes citizens, stops their parties, takes them off break, and gives them a bad thought (sleeping noise).

Cool, ty for clarifying, but I tested since your last post (see the spoiler above), so I dunno.

You know it's stochastic right?  So there's approximate 0.9^10 (~35%) chance to get nothing if you only ran it once.  Likewise there is a significant chance to get more than one thing.

There is a few furnaces that lack magma alternative buildings such as goblin tinkerer and the arcane and heavy weapons armory.  Is there a plan to add magma variants? Not a huge deal, but would be nice.

@anomaly:  I think it's not planned for the tinkerer (I see him as more like, putzing around in the garage behind his shanty, rather than a magma foundry).  Yeah, the other two I would in principle, just haven't gotten around to it.

Just wanted to let you know that the script that Kurik Amudnil send me works. autofixhandedness.rb allows custom gloves :)

I also changed Orichalcum and Deep Bronze to be SPECIAL, so no ordering it from caravans. Gnomes are now automatically turned off when you select orcs. I did replace Iridium with Orichalcum by now, and merged Orc Fortress into the main mod. Only Iridium I found in your files was:

How about adamantine katanas and dai katanas at the Damascus foundry?  The tribal wargear has adamantine claws and macuahtls (sp) but no katanas of bright blue metal anywhere in the game.  In the meantime, I will make due with vibroblades.

Oh, you can get iridium crafts and patterned metals from kobold loot bags?  I am not sure I knew that. It might be worth letting enough get stolen to induce a kobold ambush to farm the loot bags :D

thanks, yep, it was intended, the reaction existed but it was missing in the entity.  Please let me know if you don't see them in 1.28, or is it an older version?

Edit: Just fixed the netherbark leather thingy someone mentioned. It now uses [PRODUCT:100:1:SKIN_TANNED:NONE:CREATURE_MAT:NETHERBARK:LEATHER] Just posting this here because I remember that you used netherwood somewhere?

Just a minor suggestion, could you rename the Dai katana to nodachi (field sword) or ōdachi (great sword)? these are much more common ways to refer to long Japanese curved swords.  It doesn't probably bother most people but my inner weaboo cringes sometimes when I see it.  Of course Dai katana is not incorrect (lit. Big katana) but I prefer nodachi as I am used to it.

I believe I am just playing the version included in MW,  1.02 probably.

Where? I have never heard of a nodachi or odachi. Katanas are part of pop-culture and I think the name is a lot more common ;)
