Thoughts and Preferences of Dead Dwarves?

Is there any way to review the relationships and thoughts and preferences of dead dwarves?  One of my fish dissectors went mad and murdered 10 dwarves before he struck down by the militia.  I'm curious what drove him over the edge.

You can access his relationships, thoughts, and preferences through the unit list screen of someone with whom he had a relationship.

e.g., find his wife, view her relationships, {v}iew him, then look at his info as normal.

Urist McDead has been estatic lately, he was happy to be buried in a Masterwork coffin. He was happy to be free.

If anything, what you'll see are the last thoughts of the dead dwarves, not their present thoughts :P

Thanks for the help! 

I went looking, and I was able to find the thoughts and preferences of a bunch of dead dwarves.  But when I tried to check on the guy I was looking for specifically, there were no thoughts and preferences.  All I got was a description of his corpse.

Any ideas why?

Corpses behave as items, which is why you're getting a description of his corpse.
