I found this:

http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1911945-162-solved-enabledisable-crafting-recipes-using-a-config-file/

But I think it requires making your own mod.

EDIT: Or something called "advanced configuration", which appears to be sort of like a plugin system for Forge?
EDIT2: No, I was right the first time, it's a feature for mod programmers :P

I'm nearly ready to start the server, I just need to do some final testing. Wanted to share this as I have been messing around with some shader mods and thought it looked... well.. amazing.

That is all at the default 16x minecraft textures too, just using incredible shaders

Not sure if I'll be including the shaders in the pack. I might leave them in as an option but they can be pretty rough on your computer.

How will the pack compare to the current one on power hungering? If it's a bit more streamlined, my setup should be fine.

Its a lot more streamlined, especially up front. When you guys first start it will be just a bit extra stuff. More mods over time, but even with every mod I have planned you won't come close to the other pack.

Well, I wholeheartedly approve of it, then. My graphics card could use some working out.

They'll be optional and not on by default if I include it at all.

I doublewholeheartedly support this, as part of my personal crusade against torch use.

I kind of agree with this.
In my opinion, placing torches everywhere is kind of an eyesore.
Would be better with light posts at places which makes sense, such as along roads.
Not in the middle of a field, forest or middle of nowhere, where people don't usually go.
