So theres apparently alot of different kinds of adbots, beyond forum ones. Have you guys ever heard of sleeper adbots? Or Splogs(Spam Blogs that basically reap content and turn it into somewhat coherent garblebarble). We gotta figure this out and get a bigger picture of how things work. This will also make us more capable of fighting the most vicious ones(and keep the funny/interesting ones for the laughs.
I will try and keep this OP organised, post all your research/ponderings/facts here and i will put it in categories.
Types of Adbots(They need to be distinguishable from each others):
The usual Join-Copypaste-And-Leave adbot - Theese are the most common, apparently(unverified), they join only to post their spam and then leave, like bee's stinging.
The Artificial Stupidity Adbot - Theese adbots butcher a thread for keywords and try to put together meaningful garbage and somehow direct people to the sites they are working for.
The Intelligent Spambot - Very rare, theese bots are virtually indisinguishable from (really strange) people. Can usually be detected by them posting strange and irreleveant questions, occasionally includings links to shady sites, etc.
Proposals for management of adbots:
This sounds strange, but i propose that we keep the Intelligent Spambots, they are interesting to observe and experiment with.
However all the uncreative stock "copypasta kamikaze" bots should be wiped from existence.
