So, Chesnaught...well, I can't fault the nickname, at least.  I'm sure it'll look better in motion. 

I don't believe it, though.  This is the first time I've been unimpressed by the final evolutions of all three starters.  I liked Blastoise and Venusaur, Meganium, Blaziken, Empoleon and Torterra, and Serperior, but...I'm not sure what I should pick this time, and it's not because I love all the choices too much.  Though, the special moves for each are fairly interesting - a Grass Protect that inflicts damage; a more powerful Fire Snarl; and most interesting of all, a +1 priority Water Bullet Seed.

Blastoise was the only single type

Actually, I never really thought of it before, but I think Johto was the only region that had single-type starters for all three options.  In addition to Kanto...

Hoenn: Water/Ground, Fire/Fighting
Sinnoh: Grass/Ground, Water/Steel, Fire/Fighting
Unova: Fire/Fighting

EDIT: Oh, and Eevee and Pikachu both count, but for those, you aren't given a choice; they're the only options available in their respective games.

...Ironic, what Pokemon the Origin was animated by 3 companies, and the fansubs out right now have the episodes done by 3 different groups/people, with the distribution happening to be the same too. And the sub that lapses into spanish for no reason was also the episode with the least quality in its animation.
Edit: Heh. there's a Slowking cameo hidden in the hall of fame.
