The string dump has some interesting unused stuff in it.

The item sparkles with a supernatural brillance.
The air around the object seems warped as if it were very hot, yet the item is cool to the touch.
The object looks oddly square.
The item constantly emits a nearly inaudible high-pitched whistle.
The item is covered with small bumps.
The item smells like wet earth.
Tiny streaks of lightning streak quickly over the object's surface.
Creatures that look at the item cannot think negative thoughts.
The item is covered with minute gray hairs.
The item sounds like rustling leaves when moved.

Was this used before? It seems like it's for magic items or something like that.

I'm glad Toady has made sure that the game will recognize when you've hacked yourself to be adventuring as an existing historical figure :P

Aww. I wish they would say this when they leave unhappy :P

I've seen this one when I pitted a trog down a waterfall and he bruised his body when he hit the bottom.

Welcome home, my child.

This one is used when you haven't played for a year and start a new fortress in the latest version.

I'm sure I've seen this one in game when traders left unhappy. IIRC they were dwarven traders, and I kept trying to cut the profit margins just a little too much.

going there.  Obviously, your copious wit is matched only by your industry! You get this when you try and sieze an offering from a caravan (not sure if human only). The start is something like 'For a minute you had me going there'.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

Not unused, these occur whenever you go into legends mode and find a 'Destruction of X Town' event, usually perpetrated by goblins and their demon leaders.

This is from back in the days when the old dwarven economy used to exist. the broker would recommend keeping a certain amount of coins minted

This was a separate sort of insanity found in the old 40d hfs where sentient creatures could be found in the lairs of tentacle demons. they would basically sit and do nothing for eternity.

I assume this was from back when an army of the undead used to invade your fortress. this was way back before DF was even public, I believe. in past versions before undead were fully implemented the other reactions to undead relatives and such were also still intact as a relic of this as well.

Yes, I see this when I look through a sacking event. My modded race seems o be particularly fond of the beast ones.

So, tentacle demon lair, and they seem traumatized? wonder how that happened...

For "Welcome home, my child.", I've never seen that message, but the game does keep track of your "hometown" where you started out. For me, when I talk to the people in my home hamlet, they say something like "Welcome home. You've come a long way." So I suppose "Welcome home, my child." might have been said before you gained much experience.

Nag, they just kind of say "hey" or "welcome home" if you're doing that.

Isn't "Welcome home, my child." what priests say when you join their religion and then go somewhere and come back?

You can do that? Cause all priests ever do is tell me to screw off because I suck.

Suck my arse, I downed three dragons and over thirty goblin bandits. Biotch.
