Yeah, ended up just barely grabbing it now....will sort out later about giving the 3079 to somebody or some such.

What is the Ascension suite though?  Not seeing it anywhere in the library there for the games proper or bonus content...

They extended the bundle until next Monday.

Also looks like the ascension suit is the soundtrack.

Yep, forgot to update here. There's still a few days left on the bundle!

I would be interested in this... but I can't bring myself to install yet another game distribution platform.  Steam and Desura is more than enough.  Good luck though.

Ergh I actually really want Demise. I remember getting decently far (probably not actually that far; I was young and bad at games), and getting stomped by invisible wizards and other nasties. I played the demo waaaaay back and really enjoyed it, but couldn't bring myself to pay $30 for the game. Now, the timing's completely off since I'm between jobs :(

I'm tempted to buy this, but some of the games look a bit... bland.

Gamersgate doesn't actually require you to install anything to run the games - you just download a little exe downloader specific to each game and run it once to download it, then you can even archive the game install file and never have to deal with the downloader again even if you need to reinstall. Patches and other extras you can just download directly after logging in. Some of the games don't even require the downloader and are simply downloaded directly. I personally prefer them over steam for the simplicity and ability to choose when and if I want to update my games.

You have the ability to do that with Steam...

Wasn't trying to start a debate on gaming platform preference, that never goes well. Just saying that Gamersgate is simple and doesn't require another distribution platform to be installed. I'll just state that I have games through steam, and the number of times the lovely little program has installed updates after I explicitly told it not to (with no way to revert) or suddenly decided to exit offline mode on the day that my internet goes out has made me yearn for the simplicity of alternatives like GG or the olden days where you could just buy a box and install off the disk without extra baggage.

Anyway, back to the discussion at hand. How are folks who bought the bundle liking the games? That 3079 one looks kinda interesting, and I'm intrigued by Demise but kind of put off by Virtz's report of the bad design.

So, how are updates processed with this bundle then? Do you manually install or is it automatic when you use the game?
