Well, I finally got to day 6, I didn't realize you only get until sunrise. My score is kind of puny, especially compared to the others in the thread. Hopefully it's  enough to keep me in the top ten.

Nice work so far everyone! There is no need to take the fun out of the game for yourselves. Strip mining and clear cutting are obviously not the best ways to make money. Certain production lines are very profitable ;)

My refined guess would be "jewelry".  I made a sapphire ring worth like 600, using tin.  You can get some obscene value if you happen upon something like silver, gold, or especially platinum.
