It's really funny watching them do unnecessary surgery because of a wrong diagnosis.
the conditions were bad enough to turn a dwarf who didn't care about anything mad, that's pretty hardcore.

Looks like I will try my marksdorfs skirmish reclaim.
Just four more skips/failed reclaims and it's my turn!

What makes you think I'm going to fail?  >:(

I'm going to have made the fortress a mighty bastion of power before your turn.  :P

Why do all succession games seem to either wither and die or end up in a reclaim limbo after my turn?

The weredwarf Urist McUrist has come! A bearded drunkard twisted into minute form. It is crazed for booze and socks. Its unwashed beard is tangled. It needs alcohol to get through the working day and has gone without a drink for far too long. Now you will know why you fear the mines.

I usually ask the same thing when it gets to my turn as well. By that logic, if you get all the people who think that way together, the fort will last forever :D

I'd ask the difference, but the word "the" makes all the difference in the world.

Well, I've had a cursory glance (I won't be able to start properly today, but I should be able to knock out something tomorrow) and all I can say is what the hell?!  Parts of the fort seem to be fully open to the caverns, there's what I can only assume is an aquifer breach leaking down into the first cavern.  There's crap everywhere from the reclaim scatter, and a tribe of batmen worshiping the barrels of food scattered around the second cavern as their new pagan gods.

From what I understand, there's also about seven carts, at least three of which are piled on top of one another.

Its cartception.
Also, if my memory serves correctly, the caverns are mostly inassecible.  Exept that, one snake managed to get out somehow.
