I just realized something about the Amazing World of Gumball!

3 of the 4 movies referenced in the show... ARE REAL!!! the only fake one is Pony Tail.

Still not sure what to make of the Season 3 Legend of Korra ending. The fight scenes were great, but the aftermath and the last screen was just depressing.

I mean yeah the finale was absurdly violent in the number of dead characters, or at least apparently dead, but what did they mean to imply with that tear at the end? Is Korra now paralyzed? She does seem extremely worn from the poison and all but damn... and if she isn't permanently scarred the whole thing feels hammy.

I'm just sad that their Red Lotus motive ends up to be little more than a GRR Martin complex. Ie, killing important people for chaos and profit.

I was really hoping the Red Lotus would do something horrible and game changing that carried over into the next season. As such, I think there are interesting things they can do with Korra's condition, but (no pun intended) they really deflated Zaheer there. Without Korra able to take away his bending, I'd imagine it would be very hard to contain him. Some faction of the Earth kingdom probably wants him dead, though.

I really liked that scene where she hallucinated all her past enemies.

I was really hoping the Red Lotus would do something horrible and game changing that carried over into the next season. As such, I think there are interesting things they can do with Korra's condition, but (no pun intended) they really deflated Zaheer there. Without Korra able to take away his bending, I'd imagine it would be very hard to contain him. Some faction of the Earth kingdom probably wants him dead, though.

I kind of agree... Him flying is IMPRESSIVE but it felt really overblown personally. They never shown WHY him being able to fly makes him able to take down everyone (sure he could stay far back... but unless he charges he can't do squat to Korra)

Heck if Korra wasn't poisoned she would have easily mopped the floor with him... Which was SUPPOSED to be why these people were so threatening... because even an Avatar State Korra wouldn't be able to take them out (and as we find out... Avatar State Korra could take them all on) reliably.

I actually expected his "Unbound by the earthly coils" would bestow a bit more abilities to him... But in the end he just ended up being someone who really wasn't a match for Korra.

Also the results are going to be interesting because I think Korra is starting to feel the effect of her dark side... Because now she is infected by the dark spirit.

Their execution plan was probably greatly hampered by the fact that they didn't have their combustion bender. Then again, they probably should have found a better way to kill her.

But yeah, it's a bit to see how they're supposed to be this big threat, especially in the past.

- Zaheer did not have airbending.
- Ming Hua can/could very easily be defeated through the application of lightning bending, a rather common technique seeing as it was used for commercial power generation in Season 1
- P'Li and Ghazan are the only two real advantages to the group has, and one can be overwhelmed or surpised, while the other has a tendency for collateral damage.

Also, dark spirit infection?

Honestly, I was hoping for something more than just trying to kill the avatar. I was thinking, that since the group's ideals focus on a return to a "natural" state, that they would force Korra to repeat the thing she tried on the spirit forests early in the season, only on a larger scale. Thus spreading the spirit forests all over the world, and undoing civilization.

Don't you remember? If the dark spirit is destroyed it will grow anew on the Light Spirit. There is nothing I can find that indicates that aspect of it was negated.

Honestly their plans are even lamer when you think about it. Since here is their plan in order

1) Kill the Avatar
2) Assassinate every world leader
3) Continue to assassinate leaders again and again until people stop creating world leaders
4) Die of old age

To say their plan lacked focus is an understatement. To say their plan requires a COMPLETE lack of sense of reality is also pretty accurate to.

I kept expecting some point of hypocrisy or a larger plan or something...

It is even weirder because Capital City (or World City, I forget) is a Democratic nation ruled by appointed council... They kind of don't "run out" of leaders.

And yeah, the order of the Red Lotus makes little sense. Also, IIRC, wasn't the Red Lotus founded as an offshoot of the White Lotus when said order came out of hiding? Seems strange that an order whose sole point of existence is to protect one person, would suddenly have an offshoot off people who want to kill said person.

Is I think the Red Lotus are just a secret society who want to kill the Avatar because the Avatar has too much sway over the world... the rest is just really an excuse.

White Lotus isn't (or at least, wasn't always) solely dedicated to protecting the Avatar. As (jeong-jong?) said in A:TLA, they're a secret society dedicated to beauty, truth, order, etc.
