I by artifacts you mean dead specimens from failed grafting experiments? We've basically cleaned everything else from there. Still, a lot of data to be gathered from those. Also, see if you can get some of that healing goop.

Don't forget the new library of crazy-books we obtained!

Now, about those centipedes...

Corai, quick! Put on that special pair of copper socks. You know which one. The artifact ones you made in secret. After they're on, click your heels three times. Also, where is that uzi? Save your people!

"I could well ask the same thing!" Rasped the mummy.  Then, once more in unision, the two shouted.

"I live here!"

"No you don't!"

"Yes I do!"

"Stop that!"

None of you know it in-story, but I squirreled away all the books with secret knowledge in them. However, the small library did have some books about the history of the cult, seemingly written by an "Apprentice." There are some botanical notes on the plants Thari created, as well, which include drug and booze recipes.

This is what we may see in Roead's tomb, aside from the crappy clay pot.

See! Perfectly good library! Shame the rest are being burned. As crazy as Thari was, knowledge is only as deadly as it's beholder, and we bay12ers are hardly deadly at all. Well... Maybe. We're at least mostly sane.

Corai was digging through a human made chest, his entire body fit inside.

"Bread, bread, copper, copper, bread made of copper, ah! My Uzi!" "Now...come on...."

"Yes! 16-clip .45 ACP!" He said, climbing out of his chest, he had kobolds, he had a gun. He walled off the caverns and he found his pants he lost a week ago, he was gonna kill a oversized spider.

Weird was livid.  He was tired. Hungry. Thirsty.  He had just done something he didn't want to do, and had *JUST* dealt with a horrible undead abomination not 5 hours earlier!

"You know what." He spat. "It doesn't matter.  Clearly, we are both pissed that we can't get any sleep.  Here, let's go take care of this goddam noise, clean up the bullshit, and we can finish this in the morning. "

The mummy coughed. A cloud of rancid dust puffed through the wrappings. "That's the most sensible thing I've heard all day." He scowled.

Weird didn't care. Mummy, no mummy, godsdamn, he was gonna get some sleep tonight, and he would kill anyone who tried to stop him. He'd had it.

"Ok mummy, come with me. You get the puppies, and I get the kittens. We can get this shit shut up, get some sleep, and talk in the morning."

"Show me."

Gesturing ahead of himself, joykill showed his arch-rival the way to the refuse bins.

We got all the books there were to be found, I think. None of them burned. If there are some still there, if we didn't find them, the former elves probably won't either. Besides, some things are too interesting to destroy but to dangerous to use. Most of the symbolic things are burned, most of the scientific paraphernalia has probably been stuck somewhere that they will never disturb again.

HugoLuman tried to get up to follow weird and Roead, but he fell over again. "Wait for me!"

Corai, it's made of stone and fire! That means mostly bullet-proof and probably no vital organs. So aim for the eyes!

Down two ramps, and snaking around several hallways, the motley pair landed upon the slaughter yard, and the refuse pile, nestled deeply in the bowels of the fortress. Despite the obvious silliness of hiding corpses from necromancers, when one happend to LIVE in same said fortress, it really did make sense. You never could be too careful.

"See all those horribly cute little skeletons?" Weird asked. "You pick yours, I'll pick mine, and we'll go deal with whtever these fools have unleashed *THIS* time!"

The mummy nodded, and looked almost lustfully at the obscene number of dead animal remains in the locked room.  "Do you mind if I keep them?" He asked.

"If you stay out of trouble, and take them with you to wherever it is you crawled out of, I don't care. I usually ignore the things except for emergencies anyway."

"That's a peculiar thing for a necromancer to say..." mused the mummy, wrappings ristling in invisible wind from beyond, as the corpses of puppies and dogs yelped and yowled as they shuddered back to life.

"I'm not a normal necromancer." Weird said wearily, as a symphony of shrieking undead kittens cried out in the dark.

"Fair enough." Drolled the mummy, as the two left the refuse room, an unholy army of angry dead pets in their wake.

*BOSS MUSIC*

The fangs chittered as Zoltek smashed the boulders out of the way to poke her pedipalps through the entrance. Suddenly, a loud bang was heard, and something small ricocheted off her sandstone face, just below a fiery eye.

Weird, Roead, Vemini, and Oliolli walked out the entrance of the fort. HugoLuman came careening behind them, almost slamming into them. He was supported by Super Plump Helmet Man. Jerry jogged up behind them. "Where you folks going?"

"Hey! Get your face out of my caves, or I will turn your face.....or I will turn your eyes into swiss dwarven cheese!" Corai said, kobolds with spears and bows were hiding behind boulders.

On the surface.

"Okay, we found a opened hole, the spider is busy.....RUN BACK TO THE TWELTH BAY!"

The military has fled!

Great stone tentacles flailed in the cavern. One of them found the kobold's peep-hole, and began to push through it, widening it. A kobold looked fell down, breaking his legs, and looked into the beast's eyes. Unfortunately, being within 50 feet of the eyes, the kobold simply combusted when Abediah glared at him.

-I had such dirty thoughts right then when you mentioned broken legs.-

"I hear fire." Corai said as he took aim and fired off his 16 bullets, reloading, he noticed three bullets met there marks.

"I need better aim."
