HELP!

Now ive just started i got some companions and etc... started fast travelling and i decided to stop to drink because my adventurer was thristy but so i pressed shift+< and it didnt go out of fast travel i dont have capslock on... What obvious thing im missing?

did it anddidnt wrok i got out of fast travel before whitout problems i fixed it by saving going closing the game opening it again and keep playing.
