Deal with it? I mean, that's pretty much what you have to do.

Play to your strengths and work around your shortcomings, just like you'd do with anything else.  Try not to use it as an excuse, rather, a challenge.

You know that there is no proven link between aspergers and intelligence right?

In terms of dealing with it, you're probably best off just exposing your self to social situations, start small, two to three people at a time, just attempt to talk and discuss whatever. Over time move towards largers groups as you feel more and more comfortable. Watch people around you and see how they interact/deal with any given situation, above all think about what you are going to say before you say it.

Actually if you don't mind me asking who diagnosed you? I've always wondered if it's something a general practice doctor does or if you have to visit a specialist?

Don't worry about it, just continue on like you did before, but don't forget to include more talking to people. Thats all I did. I tend to not really study things unless they're interesting though, since I can remember things  (except for names and phone numbers) fairly well.

Also you spelled Asperger's wrong.

Best solution - Get a tutor. For those who have more serious social disabilities, passive social experience will do jack shit to help, but intentional learning sessions can get you really far. Friends can help, but there are actual teachers who do this for a living, and they can be a huge help (if you can find out). A lot of people don't even know how to socialize, it's all instinctual, so they're use to you is limited.

If you can't get a teacher, you're going to have to treat socialization like any other subject that needs serious study. Experiment. Get others to rate you. Do roleplaying (the theatrical kind, not the D&D kind), and run through situations you have trouble with to work on a lot of the little details you might be missing that come naturally to others.

You can learn to socialize just as well as anyone else, but you're going to have to do a good deal of it manually.

Force yourself into social situations. It may seem hard, and looks like it'll be useless, but it's not. If you're not naturally socially fluent, the only way to address that is to discern social rules and conventions via trial and error. Prepare for a lot of error. Asperger's is not a blank cheque to abandon social norms because they're hard for you to understand - that's just the lazy way out. It will be harder for you to integrate than most, but that just means that you have to try harder, not that you can just give up.

According to your profile you are 21. Unless you were having having issues with your life before you were diagnosed there is no reason to do anything. You may have just been diagnosed, but you have always had it. If you were happy before feel free to still be happy.

Just echoing Glyph's advice and saying that from what I've seen ed boy's advice is bad. My brother has been diagnosed with the same since he was an early teen, and he perpetually forces himself into social situations which as he's learned the hard way does nothing for his social skills. On the other hand, a social skills tutor - something he picked up after a few years of trying the first thing - has helped him massively. Unfortunately, some can't afford it...

'Course, I can only speak for one case. I don't know that it would help everyone with aspergers.

I'll echo what Criptfeind said. If you were doing fine before, then you're fine now. (though I'm guessing that's not the case, else you'd have no reason to get diagnosed)

Just remember that autism != second class citizen. You're a capable human being, just with some different wiring upstairs. It's nothing to be ashamed of -- you're not a freak or anything. So keep your head high and charge forth into life with reckless abandon :)

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

I said what I did above, but I'm going to echo Criptfeind & kaijyuu said as well for emphasis.
