Well, limitations imposed upon me are preventing me from being able to work on the mod renewal effectively at this time.  Still, this gives more time for the poll to get more opinions than just one, and getting the opinions of whether I should make a new thread for the renewal or not.

Hey, would anyone like to work on the total conversion aspect of this mod with me?  Right now, the size of the task in my mind is so overt that it is preventing me from really getting into the modding aspect without being dragged down.

If I actually knew how to work mods, I would be willing to help.  As is, I'm just getting started modding, and would likely be more of a hindrance than a help.

Cool.  The creatures and plants are done for the most part (wildlife and plants taken care of by random generator scripts until other new stuff is added, I still need to readd griffons and fill out the entities), but I need (off the top of my head) some secrets, new rocks, minerals, and alloys, 'primitive' weaponry for use by the dwarves, humans, and elves, figuring out how the kobold civilization would be if it was at the level of power of one of the prior races in vanilla, ethics for more civilized goblins, maybe some new weaponry, and a minotaur civilization (maybe a few other semimegabeasts as well?).

I don't think I saw griffons in this mod till now, strange I missed that, but thanks for putting them in.

The only thing the next version does is overhaul the trees and add a few tokens to creatures (most of which AFAIK have defaults anyway).

Progress update:
Managed to get through the tiered metals and reaction files that 4mask had sent me earlier (some modding was done).

example progression:
1 steel bar <- 3 pig iron <- 6 imperfect pig iron <- 18 iron <- 36 imperfect iron <- 9 iron ore
1 bismuth bronze<- + (2 copper + 2 bismuth <- 4 impure copper + 4 impure bismuth <- 1 copper ore + 1 bismuth ore
                         l- 2 bronze <- 4 imperfect bronze <- 8 copper + 8 tin <- 16 impure copper + 16 impure tin <- 4 copper ore + 4 tin ore

Material values have been adjusted accordingly.

Races will be as such (parenthesis mark typical.  There are some exceptions)
Tier 5 ('ultimate' metals)
Fire Dragons
Minotaurs

Tier 4 (perfect alloys)
Earth Dragons
Dwarves

Tier 3 (imperfect alloys)
Ice Dragons (glaciers and tundras)/Water Dragons (swamps and marshes)
Goblins

Tier 2 (purified base metals)
Elves
Griffins

Tier 1 (impure base metals)
Kobolds
Humans

Tier 0 (wood)
Satyr
Animal Men

Eventual planning is to have three individual sides, all hostile to each other:
Side 1: All Dragon species <fire and ice/water playable> and Minotaurs
Side 2: Dwarves <playable>, Goblins, Griffins, and Elves
Side 3: Humans <playable>, Kobolds, and Satyrs
