Your dig to the surface is basically event less, and your ants have an entrance to the over world easily enough in on time at all, during their work your soldier ants escort them in case of an ambush or such. Once the surface is breached the two head up to scout a bit, and immediately spot a small group of termites housed in some sort of large wooden post drove into the ground, and connected to other such posts. Luckily the termites don't notice your ant soldiers, but they will be a definite risk if they aren't exterminated eventually.
