Well we could probably move dirt to other areas to build things with. Also yeah put those dead roots in the farm area. Try to do that after the tunnel is finished and the water is gone.

Thats good so now can we

have the two workers dig a tunnel under the food area with a lump of dirt in the front. Make the lump large enough so that after the tunnel is connected to the farm area the water will not flood the rest of the nest.
That'll effectively expand our farm area because the currently submerged land will be freed for growing mushrooms.

And have the miners conntinue digging up. Have 2 colony ants expand the hatchery, and 1 help with the tunnel.

Also what are worker ants better at than the other ants? Every non-mining, non-guarding job?

Your ants set about expanding your great colony even further, your expansion down goes very quickly, but you are soon enough stopped by a massive chunk of unknown stone that is nigh unbreakable to you. Your workers set about expanding the hatchery, and they easily transform it into a medium hatchery that can hold a great 16 larvae eggs at full capacity. Sadly when you order your ants to fertilize the farm they have no clue what this means, seems you'll need more intelligent breed to teach them such things.

The stone must end at some point. GO UP TO FIND NEW BREACHING POINT. THEN CONTINUE INTO THE DEPTHS.

Anyway, have the ants connect the downward tunnel to the farm area, expand the farm area, dump the roots into the downward tunnel, and keep on diging up.
