Well this about the fifth time I've died by a leader.

So, I receive a quest that tells me a leader or human or whatever is in the dungeon of the town.

I get scared because of my past with enemies like that but I man up and go down anyway. 

As soon as I find him, I get head shotted and drop my shield and sword and get shot again.

So I scurry away and let me adventures deal with him...

Well, my adventures failed...I saw list after, after list of my adventures getting their asses kicked while I'm on the floor dying from a shot to the head.

My lasher takes it and had severe injures and was vomiting all over the place, my swordsman is dead but I think my crossbowmen took the leader because the list injures stopped and also shooting....wait nevermind, I remembered the list still continued. In the final list, I suffocate to death. 

So any tips with dealing a leader because apparently they are beast.

The only reason I really did the quest was because I was in "The Island of Mostly Peace".

Kill a few WILD, not stray, animals, butcher, grab bones, and chuck them at him. Then finish him off.

well atleast you dont scratch a nightcreature and u shatter their ribs but i suggest when u get the HEY LOOK AT ME IMA KILL YOU chat bar thing to just run away a little let your buddies fight them and then come in and mop up also try differnt fight style maces are surprisingly effective if you can get a good hit on an arm or lag usually sshattering the bone so try it also always be a dwarf because they get the ungodly martial trance

oh yea beware if u spam service i recommend u read them because if you read them its possible you can be entering a night creature nest i.e like a family so take an army

Dwarves need small armor, which humans do not make. The only way to get it is via hunting down a megabeast lair that has dead dwarfs in it.

Arent goblins "narrow", making armor un-usable, or is that elf?

I think that must be elf. Never tried wearing their stupid-ass wooden armor . But I'm wearing something goblin right now, so...

That was a few versions ago, now both elf and goblin armor are fully useable by dwarves IIRC.
