Oh, and if you think X-COM: EU's bad, TFTD is worse. See, there was a bug in the first game that automatically reset the difficulty back to the easiest setting without warning the player. Fans, who thought they were playing the most difficult setting, demanded the sequel be harder.))

((I would character build... but i don't feel like it right now, and it doesn't seem like an opportune time. Also, there is a game for the iOS system, Aliens vs Humans, i think, that is almost exactly like the old X-COM. Little more streamlined and less management (And content, since its iOS) but very similar in difficulty and equipping your men.))

Interrogate.  If no reason to worry, evac them to the Sword and prepare to move to next objective.  Check with Almighty Steve for any updates.

Charles uses his dynamic bonus to lie and tell them that the incident was the result of the UWM releasing hallucinogens everywhere in an unscrupulous manner and that they need to take the antidotes to the side effects.

((What version? If it's past 1.4, or if it's the Collector's Edition/Gold, then the bug's fixed. Otherwise, there's a utility (XcomUtil) that will fix it (and some other bugs) and provide other options for modding the game a bit. Things like the ability to save a soldier's equipment set, playing a hybrid game with TFTD, making it so that captured aliens assist research times (but making the research times last much longer if you don't have captives to interrogate).))

STEPHEN HAWKING sends Charles a wristpad message explaining that the civvies haven't actually shown any knowledge of the AM, so using the darts at this point would be a waste. He should focus on finding which ones actually have such knowledge.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

((Nah, Chryssalids only accompany Snakeman terror sites. Albeit, they do make up a lot of terror sites, especially April-May of the first year. But chryssalids are more terrifying now, especially if you don't have armor. They can go from outside your field of view to melee range, and attack, in a single turn, and if they succeed in killing a unit (they'll keep attacking one unit until they're dead, even though that unit is already dead from their venom and impregnation), they will run to the next and start attacking. Meaning that a single chryssalid can impregnate multiple soldiers per turn. And the only way to stop a new chryssalid hatching from a zombie is fire. Killing it with anything but incendiary rounds will cause it to spawn regardless.

Then there's the Celatids, which are one of two terror units that accompany Mutons. They're pretty much alien snipers/artillery, with their attack doing 140 base damage (highest non-explosive damage in the game) and an accuracy of 75% or 110%. Oh, and it does an extra 60% damage to unarmored humans, and an extra 10% to those with Personal Armor. The good news is that it has a maximum range of 16 tiles outside, and 7 tiles indoors, due to how the game treats its shots - like grenades, in an arcing trajectory. And it has fairly weak armor, but it's a small target, so it's hard to hit.

And quite a few more. Really TFTD's terror missions are more terrifying, since you can't use half your weapon types for them (at least, towards the beginning. Then again, quite a few of the conventional weapons remain effective and unreplaced)!
