To both girls:
"Sorry if I did something perverted. I have some psychological problems and sometimes, when there are cute girls involved, I totally lose control....May we start the proper introductions?...My name is Renen, Renen Averius von Raptum. And may I ask what are the names of these beautiful ladies and this.... :o....person, where we are and why are we here? And I would like to know if there are any doctors here, if I may."

Introduce Renen to the girls he just helped - follow them asking the questions above, that weren't answered up until now

Mason blinks, dusts himself off, and walks back to the VR area.

"Guy-person-dude-thing in charge of the VR simulations, would it be possible to create a simulation detailing, lets say, three random alien species? Specifically speaking on the subject of physical traits, simple behavior, and culture/technology? Afterward, if I'm satisfied with the specifically-chosen xenobiological specimen, which I most likely will be, I'd like to craft a strategic encounter simulation between non-communicating parties of the three species and myself, as well as anyone else who'd like to join in. Rather than a strict battle simulation, I'd like to simulate basic behavioral patterns during an encounter with said species, based upon whatever limited knowledge we have of these creature's civilizations. Simply put, give me three random aliens, tell me about them, then stick me in an imaginary world with my current gear-set and lets see what happens."

((@zomara0292 That's an interesting idea, but I'm not a big fan of deathmatches, I prefer team fights. Also, we'd probably need to set a fixed limit on how much tokens can we spend on our projects...
I have a better idea: Battle of Hexbrax, as a joint tinker team. No set tokens limit (or a soft one), the objective - to stop the Altered. That way I hope we'd be able to encounter enough diversity to battle-test our inventions, as well as see 'who has the best and most creative tinkering skills'
Well, sometime, I guess.

@Ehndras Interesting idea, but what about increasing the difficulty/complexity of the simulation? So that you would have not a single specimen, but several of them, with the ability to reproduce and build? I mean, to observe and encounter the aliens as societies/civilizations, because a single representative might be not enough in some cases, especially if it is a mindless drone or something like that.
Perhaps as the second experiment in that line.))

((I don't think there is anyone "in charge" of the VR simulations. The only person controlling a simulation is Milno, who is managing a combat course at the moment.

Edit: It is also funny how everyone tried to beat the Resident Perv Renen to death, but allowed Socialist Threat Mason to escape unscathed.))

((@ nikitian: That sound a lot better, plus a cost limit can make it a lot more fair. And another Idea addition. Make it a gambling thing? A tournament with a low entrance fee, and final survivor/person who kills the altered wins the fee. We can even add in other modes. Like "Mafia" mode.))

((@zomara0292 Sounds good. However, I guess the conscripts (that is, people with 0 completed missions) should first go on at least one mission in order to have the spare tokens. Oh, and rising the stats/skills would help quite a bit too :) ))

((Oh trust me I'd love that, but I'm trying to keep the GM's workload down to a minimum at this point in time. I'd rather gradually introduce these ideas rather than force the GM to half-ass paragraphs of on-the-spot alien lore. As a scifi writer myself who writers something akin to this game, I know how complex the lore-building process is. Sure, I can pull a complex alien species out of my ass in 40 seconds, but it won't be very coherent... :P))

(( Well, yeah, you're probably right  :) I just haven't thought of it from this point of view... Yeah, I do also understand how many problems later would the incoherent lore bring in, had to deal with it once. Short of radically retconning, it is nearly impossible to deal with those when the lore has grown sufficiently large, so yes, slow and steady wins the race. ))

((Epic weapon idea.

Take Gauss Rifle. Add electromagnetic induction coil to the rifle's firing chamber, breech, whatever it's called, the place where the slug is prior to firing. Make it so that the slug is melted right before firing.

All of that = Poor Man's plasma rifle in a feasible package. Only real difference is that it's molten metal at hyperkinetic velocity, not plasma.

It should slice through armor like a razor through rice paper.))

(( Sounds good :)
I'm, however, unsure about it being able to slice through armor - well, I mean tear through armor, because it would probably somewhat lack in piercing capability (wouldn't it just splash (start splashing, at least) upon contact, thus increasing the area of the applied force?) - but burning/melting through, provided the temperature is high enough, is highly possible. Yeah, quasi-plasma rifle ;) ))

((Hmm, maybe if I had a railgun-style configuration, I could add in another electromagnet to induce a rotating magnetic field in the molten metal, flattening it into a spinning disk, which contacts the rails and gets launched. It would include a "slicing" action into the impact. War Quoit, anyone?))

((It's probably going to have to be Ferric, for the magnetic properties. Besides, who says that a high melting point metal can't severely burn and, when cooled to below melting point, restrain the target?))
