Huh. We've got a completely different feed now, same era, maybe an external view of our previous image?
Concentrate on the image. Ponder what it might mean.
[int:4+1]
Hmmm well the zero-g bed means the ship it actually even older then Second Expansion. Either the guy in the Second Expansion suit is in an older ship or he's into some weird antiquing.
((Bah. If this was DnD, I would just throw the halfling at it. ))
Floki sighed and trudged onwards, to stand next to the hangar door. He scratched his jaw thoughtfully as he stared at it.
>Ponder what I could perhaps use to break down/cut through this door.
>Also keep an eye out for suspicious activity in the corridors.
[int:6-1] Hmm. Well, a Cutting Laser or Torch might do it, assuming it's not laser resistant. Explosives otherwise, or just really high heat. That or maybe some sort of chemical solvent.
"Ain't gonna mind rape me any time soon!, ...........Damn still need a sample"
Grab someone from the rec room, find something to wedge the door up, enter.
You float to the rec room and start shouting for help and door stops.
"...couldn't even have the decency to kill myself on a proper mission..."
Crawl down the vent, knife in teeth. Pause at each corner or intersection I reach to send a message notifying everybody that I'm fine, and cautiously look around the corner before continuing down, always taking the left-most path whenever there's a split.
You hit the first intersection and turn to the left and face to face with a very pale and haggard looking man. Scratch that, Robot with a human head. It blinks at you before a holographic projection of a Exclamation point appears above his head.
"Stuff it. I'm gonna try and fix the dishwasher. If there's wires and shit going haywire then this is where it started. I'll try and nip this one in the bud. Can someone keep an eye on the TV? And try and help me if something goes all fucked up and the dishwasher eats me? I'm telling you, whatever Floki did to this, its screwed up everything."
Blame Floki for everything. Turn kinetic amp off. Try and work out what's broken in the dishwasher intuitively, by seeing what's obviously completely rooted. Try and fix the dishwasher with any available parts or tools in the Rec room, requesting duct-tape if necessary or using my sledgehammer in standard "impact engineering fix-up" technique. Standing reaction orders still in effect.
Edit: it's important to turn my weapons off before I stick them into something I'm trying to fix (not break even more).
The problem seems to be that someone hacked it into a dozen slices like a loaf of bread and then that someone else smashed it up with a goddamn hammer. Did this washer bad mouth the mob or something? Jeez.
Examine the signal cord for signs of tampering.
Well, the cord looks intact as far as you can see, so if it's being tampered with in any way, it's got to be happening somewhere in the wall the cord extends from.
"HUUUURRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH"
Stop breathing, breathing is bad. Keep trying to not die.
((Okay, lungs are much more efficient.))
You feel something pushing you, as though someone's put both hands on your shoulder blades and is pushing you up. Well, more like someone is pushing with a circular saw. You hear something cracking and squishing.
"Well, that was most unexpected. I should really complain more often."
Examine the wire that came from the ceiling. Try to figure out where it came from and where it might lead to. Beware of alien treachery while doing this.
"Hm, there appears to be some deterioration in this part of the ship. Odd. Don't recall anything like that from when I was last here."
The wire doesn't look particularly strange, it looks like it could have just fallen out of the hole in the ceiling on it's own. The hole in the ceiling looks like some sort of rust or corrosion damage on the corner of one of the metal plates making up the ceiling. Hmmm it doesn't look particularly alien or evil but you don't remember it from before.
[Soooo I guess Ash is an unconscious heap somewhere]
[Location: Briefing room]
((Actually, stasis pod room, unless she has woken up, walked naked to the briefing room then fainted there.))
Milno sends another message, comms and wristpad.
"I was just freed, by the way, the hangar blastdoor opened. Whatever is controlling this has control over the systems in this area of the ship."
He puts an arm at Stacy's chest before letting him go if he really wants to.
"Don't wander alone and away from the others unless you want do die."
Milno gets to the rec room and checks both the ship and the room itself for any anomaly on his way there.
The most anomalous thing you see on your rounds is your team mates. Hmm, it's gone oddly quiet.
Since the way is open, Jim heads into the hangar and looks for some sort of safety precaution, such as a tether, to attach himself to. If one is found, he then looks for a way out to the hull. Under no circumstances will he head out to the hull without some way of making sure he can get back to the ship safely.
It looks like there are some sort of tether system in the airlock, several large boxes on the wall with what looks like a harness attached to a cable.
I think there's something alien in the power, but Steve shut off our power. So, this means there's something else supplying it. I've got a power supply on my back, but it's not plugged into anything, I think. We need to find this power source.
Look at the power pack on back. Is there anything plugged into it other than the rifle? Look around again, and watch the TV somemore.
You look at the power pack on your back. Nothing is plugged there at all because you never did get around to finishing that universal plug idea, your laser is just directly wired in.
((Wait, the hangar's open already?))
>If so, go in there and suit up. Quickly, before the robot can open the place to vacuum.
You run into the hanger, shouting "DO NOT SPACE ME" at jim as you duck into the locker room and get yourself suit up.
Milno, I'm thinking the wires were used by someone or something to attack you from a vantage point -- attack of opportunity or something along those lines.
What were you doing before the wires, and were you alone? If so, what did you notice before that? Did you hear anything?
You're in full armor...
Anyway, everyone. Is there still any place except the labs, the Armory and the back of the Infirmary that isn't open to us? We're all in the Recreation Room as a meeting point.
Intuition. If the anomaly was electricity, and from what I know on the circuitry layout of this side of the ship...where is the best place where we can safely tamper with the electricity? Like a fuse box or a tertiary power source?
[intuition:3+1]
You realize that you have no idea about the circuitry in the ship in any way shape or form. This will prove problematic.
Use the wristpad computer to map the place as Renen and I try to find a way out. Utilize the map to faciliate the search of an exit.
[aux:1+1]
uh...how do you...work this thing again...god damn it.
[Location: Taking a trip without leaving the room]
The ship... surely the ship meant something. The vision was here for a reason- he must determine why he was being shown these things.
Approach the ship, and attempt to ascertain its identity.
(you're actually inside the ship. What that obtuse description was saying is that you can't see anything except whats illuminated by the light, and whats in the light is a sleeping area with a zero-g bed.)
As you float closer the light of the torch moves, illuminating new sections, until it finally comes across a something shining bright blue in the dark, reflecting the light of the torch like a sapphire: A small statuette.
May checks what she has on her.
one empty med kit, one microwave field manipulator with 17 shots left, 14 tokens and a some drugs.
Yeah sure I'm in the barrack. That doesn't change much because I'm still unconscious.
Seriously. Wake up.
You wake up, naked, in the barracks with a wicked headache and a sense of impending doom. Red emergency lights flash all around you and there's a distinct feeling you're not alone here.
You try to go back to sleep. It doesn't work. Damn it.
(Yeah, the pastebin's pretty out of date. I don't even know what Jim's real stats are anymore. )
I'll update it here soon. The only reason it tends to stay out of date until people wack me over the head is that posting it is kind of a pain. I have to dig through it and cut out all my notes and reminders and things you don't or can't know. I'll try to get that done by tomorrow's evening post for you all. Sorry again about only one post today.
