I mostly used named weapons, the ones with special flavor text. However, I had lots of fun in Robo Revolution with a 2-shot (5 with my soldier mod) revolver that reloaded in something around half a second. It also had power comparable to some sniper rifles, and accuracy to boot.

I'd love to do a fresh play-thru, but I recently uninstalled Borderlands to try and free up some hard drive space, hopefully speeding my main gaming machine up.

I dunno about anyone else, but I love the Terrible Matador series of shotguns. Strongest guns in the game, as well as long-range if you're good enough with them, I would have to say from experience; plus, not often you can successfully snipe something with a shotgun either.

Brofist, fellow Matador.  ˇOLÉ!  I got an absolutely smashing one around level 24, made by Jacobs and with like a 20-shot drum clip, that lasted me through the DLC and into my second playthrough.  It didn't die a glorious death or retirement though, I just accidentally sold it.  Damn.

Heck yeah! Matadors are awesome, what with their usually high supply of ammo and loads and loads of shots per shot. Who cares about that Lvl 40+ 2-shotgun you have when your Lvl 25+ Matador can deal that much damage and then some more.

Ahh, the Masher. A really good weapon if you have that doubling-the-amounts-of-shots skill with you. Moreso if it's a legendary Tediore Masher with 2 ammo capacity.

E: Jakobs Mashers are too slow for my taste. Especially the 2 shots version.

Actually haven't gotten anyone that wanted to play right now except Mech. Though they said they were leaving soon...

Anyone I may not already have friended, the little globe under my avatar should take you to my SteamID. I just marathonned a bunch of claptrap farming in order to collect all manners of oddball achievements. Now that I have that all out of the way; status update, Hunter can still new game playthrough 2, and my siren is raiding the Crimson Lance in the main story. Not much else left for her before taking on the DLC.

Have yet to try out the berserker or soldier (and get their achievements out of the way). So far, Siren seems to be my favorite; takes awhile to get her up to pace, but after enough levels, she'll outright murder anything in her path. I'm blazing through the game a few levels earlier than with my hunter previously. She'll be quite the asset in the arenas, and a nightmare to deathmatch.

EDIT:
As for more awesome weaponry; while doing my claptrap raid, I came across a pretty kickass sniper rifle which had a 7x shot multiplier on top of an already powerful damage level (level ~40). Only drawback is that it's a pretty slow gun, but still, the damage more than makes up for it.
