Either way, it wouldn't be confined to one day. It would start that day, and keep going... until we got tired of it, I guess. The main thing we need to get this to work is a repository for the penguin images (like an imgur account called "Bay12 Penguins" or something), where they can sit undisturbed until the carnival starts again. When the date rolls around, we link to it and everybody retrieves their avatars.

since Inaluct got his avatar, I have seen precisely one other crudely drawn penguin on this sight, and that is enough evisence for me to anticipate that it is the next big thing.
