The (un)Grateful Dead

The undead are swarming me!

In the top left I have dug out the startings of a slum society which I send all the migrants to, but during constructions of wall between snobville and mont de scrub two necromancers showed up. I put those suckers DOWN with my legendary lashers, but corpse parts of anything dead is rising up to belittle my efforts of social segregation by harassing the living.

1) Could there be another necromancer hidden on the map that keeps reviving them?
2) Wtf should I do? They keep coming!

Necromancers will occasionally disguise themselves as migrants.

I've never encountered this. Can you confirm?

On the other hand, I have encountered stealthy, unseeable necromancers. These were difficult to detect, too; even being directly adjacent to them didn't help. It was only when they decided to attack a dwarf because they were cornered that they were detected.

Have them kil-- hmm...

I've never ran into a problem that couldn't be solved with death before... I think I'm at a loss for words.
My whole philosophy is coming undone!

Well they can arrive as migrants, but it's not really well disguised - they show up with their full titles and begin raising the dead as soon as they get their eyes on them.

Hang on, I wonder, would removing the eyes of a necromancer stop it from raising corpses?

Yet more solutions brought to you by Dwarven Optometry Co.

And yep, necros can arrive as ambushers too, and raise the dead whilst ambushing

From my combat report: The human architect necromancer Behtri Inspuzthrura is making corpses shudder and start to move. However, he is cloaked on the map somewhere. I send my death producers scrolling around the map but he is no where to be find. This is turning into quite the demonic siege, with me having to order all civilian dwarves to ignore everything else than corpses and producing a walled in serratic disc protected graveyard.

So far he has not resurrected stuff inside the walls. I guess the methodology of defeating this particular fun resides around huge corpse piles.

Does anyone know if necromancers must be able to either a) path to or b) have line of sight on corpses to make them move?

Just line of sight, pathing is not necessary
