Dragon's Dogma
((Don't be forgetting the after-boss, the world-dragon.
Which is a massive Undead Star-Dragon about five times the size of that one and made out of human hearts.))

However, as SC will be moving into this thread soon, I guess we'd better shuffle away with our derailing and such.

Teal reports for duty, borrowed namite thrower in-hand and large grin behind helmet.
((Also did I end up getting that engineering/industrial suit?))

Thats the dragon in Dragon's dogma. He also casts high level magic like a boss.
...Impressive. Shame he isn't real, he seems like an excellent debate partner, and also quite honorable.

((...
Do you have the choice to leave the girl to die?))
((I assume that by the time you reach that point, you have a reason to not do so.
But judging by the lack of response from Arisen, I'd say it's probable. And would net you a bad ending, possibly at the claws of the dragon. I can think of half a dozen ways the dragon could do so without technically violating the terms of his agreement.))

Actually you can totally let the girl (or whatever character it is for you. Seriously, the game runs an affinity system in the background it never tells you about, and whoever likes you the most is the character the dragon takes. So you can accidentally end up with the weapon merchant because you bought a ton of shit from him.) die. The dragon totally keeps his promise too. You end up as ruler of the kingdom but it's a bad ending because
1.The dragon will return one day
2. You lost your supposed beloved
3. It shows you sitting on the throne, alone and ageless, doomed to regret your decision for unknown decades or centuries.

But yeah, even the lesser dragonkin like drakes and stuff will use magic and speak in latin, though they're no where near as large or talkative.

What a shame that it's:

A. an actiony game, which I suck at
B. not free (a turn-off for me, cheapskate I am)
C. a console game (when I don't have a single console to my name and don't intend to)

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

Take the gear our team gets for the mission, then head out and start surveying the area, looking for strategically important places, civilians, weird anomalies and the like. Start with the area devastated by the Grate incident. Employ the trusted Rock Throwing Method (tm) to check for anomalies.

Lyra follows Jim out of the briefing room.
You follow Jim, despite his dead eyes and 1000 yard stare.

Follow Miyamoto until the mission starts.
You, on the other hand, follow Miyamoto.

Aquire any equipment being handed out to the Amp cleanup team, and examine it in detail. Then follow the person who looks like they're in charge of the team.
Well, that would be 3 flame throwers and a heavy laser based cutting ring; with you'll probably need miyamoto to carry. The flamethrowers are, well, flame throwers. They're a backpack tank and a nozzle gun that you point at things you don't like and then squeeze the trigger to make them stop existing. You're not sure exactly whats in the tank, but it's probably something potent.

The cutter is  basically a large laser and power supply mounted on a circular frame with a motor that carries the laser around in a circle  as it cuts. Basically, it's an automated hole cutter.

Gorat goes to find Maurice. "Maurice, I have a trigger here for my shock implant. I'd like you to have it, and use it of you feel that I'm acting contrary to our mission goals. I know this seems weird, but I have my reasons."

Find Maurice. Offer him the shock trigger.

Spoiler: Gorat 'Chin' Ivanos (click to show/hide)
I'll just say he takes it, since maurice's connection maybe spotty.

Another new person? Golly, we sure are getting a lot of ya lately. Well, you know anything about whats going on or anything or do you need some context?

Jim and Miyamoto seem rather quiet.

Non-amp clean up gets nothing really, since they're just sweeping. But We'll say you brought the cutter down to help out the amp team.

Anyways, you and your group of hooligans  take the elevator down to the surface along with everyone else and pile out onto the dirt.

As per what there is to look at: the area over to the left of the admin building appears to be a haze of electrified mustard colored gas. Behind the base you can see a pillar of solidified shadow flickering into an out of existence, and there's a rather strange aurora beyond that. All of them really kinda fall into the "Grate incident" battle field.

As per areas of interest in terms of defense, the base itself is in the middle of a large, open basin. To the right of it is what looks like a battery of high powered lasers. You figure that if you want to plan defense, you could always ask steve specifics about what the invasion would be like.
