Travis, may I have a request?
So far you've been eager to undertake dangerous solitary assignments. Could you circle this tower while they are trying to climb this rope? I hope for a better entrance, one Gorat and I could more easily use. The ability to run (or walk fast, for that matter) would speed the process of search as well as raise the chances of a successful retreat, if the worst comes to the worst, but it is currently unavailable to me.

((Nothing could go wrong with that, I'm sure. ;D))

Gorat can't do much more than wait, and give out his glowsticks to anyone who may want them.

Keep hauling myself up.
[str:4]
You take a deep breath and then continue up, one hand over the other until you finally reach an opening of sorts. The wall you and the team were following continues upward, unbroken, but connecting to it a few feet to the right of your precarious position is what looks like a walkway or bridge. The walkway is almost like a pipe with round holes cut in it, just a horizontal tube extending from the wall out into the darkness. You can't tell if the walkway actually connects to the wall, but it would make sense.

It looks like you could swing to the walkway fairly easily from here, though transferring from the rope to one of the holes might be a bit tricky.

"Well, this may be harder than it looks. I'll go last just in case the rope decides to break when it's my time. I'm a little heavier with this suit and I'll have to carry Chin."

Prepare to catch just in case.

You stand under the slowly rising strand of light that is Simus with your arms out, ready to put your mechanically enhanced strength to work.

The wall keeps going up, but it looks like there's a walkway of sorts near me. I'm going to try swinging over to it and see if it goes into the wall itself. It'll be tricky to get into, it's more of a tube with holes in it, but I think I can at least take a look inside before I try actually getting in.

Swing over to one of the holes and lock my mechanical limbs in place, on the rope and the bottom of a hole, if possible, to secure my position. Once that's done, use the remaining organic arm to take out a lantern and look into the walkway.

Give Travis the lantern I've been holding, then join Milno in readiness to catch Simulacrus, if needed.

You swing yourself back and forth a few times, picking up momentum, getting a little bit closer to the walkway with every pass. Once you think you're close enough you wrap your legs around the rope and reach out with both hands, trying to lock your metal fingers into the sandstone. You can feel them clip the edge and then slide off with a metallic grind and a puff of scraped off rock. Missed.

Give Travis the lantern I've been holding, then join Milno in readiness to catch Simulacrus, if needed.
You toss Travis a lantern and join Milno. Though now that you think about it, a crippled, one handed doctor probably isn't the best choice in who should be catching the half metal woman falling from several meters up. Oh well, anything for love.

((Thank god for that +1, that could've been bad.))

Try again.

Missed it that time, thank god I have a secure grip on this thing...

(( Well, no one else joined him, so a two-armed one-haded semi-crippled doctor is better than no help. Just doing my job, nothing personal... I suppose. ))
Oh. Still, that rope is swinging dangerously, should we bring it to stop before you try again?

No, I've got a nice grip on it. I won't come tumbling down if I can help it, Doc. And I'm trying to swing over to a platform I found, stopping the rope is not a good idea.

Sure, if you say so. ...I wonder what made the person who put that rope there choose this way inside rather than look for an easier one. Does it mean there is actually no other entrance?..
Examine the wall around the rope. Is there any marks left by climbing tools like the ones we were issued?

"Alright. I'm going to do a perimeter check around the wall. Good luck team"

Travis heads clockwise around the wall, keeping physical contact with it. He examines the wall for markings, anything that breaks its uniform surface.

The next pass is a success and you dig your metal fingers into the sandstone with ease, pulling yourself into the walkway a moment later. You look around, holding a handful of the rope light to see. The walkway extends into the darkness away from the wall in one direction and opens up into whatever is beyond the wall in the other.

Sure, if you say so. ...I wonder what made the person who put that rope there choose this way inside rather than look for an easier one. Does it mean there is actually no other entrance?..

You take a look at the wall, rubbing your remaining hand against it before looking up the wall and squinting at what simus's ropelight illuminated. There don't look to be any sort of markings on the wall, but then again you still can't see where the rope is anchored to.

You take the lantern and start walking, keeping one hand on the wall as you follow the gentle curve around, searching for anything of interest. It takes several straight minutes of brisk walking but you eventually circumnavigate the building and end up back where you started.

"Huh, Guess it's round."

Unless someone down there found a way in, we've got our entrance here, people! If you're able-bodied, like you, Milno, Climb on up if you can. All of you with injuries that will prevent you from climbing normally, like you, Doc, hang on until all of us who can are up here, then grab hold of the rope as best you can and we'll haul you up.
