FTB is all about knowing what you can do with your mods (and some of vanilla), but yea at the beggining you have to find the "last gift". If you really have no clue you should watch a let's play of one of those maps, it's always basically the same even for the old ones. Waiting for trees to grow is not mandatory.

Started playing with RuneCraftory. Which prompted me to make a SiezureYurt to compliment my SiezureCube from N@W

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Make it with flashing green and black lamps. THEN it is a seizure yurt.

Ohhhh man, rune factory mod, I'm all over that.

EDIT: I am just really bad at installing mods or something.

on FTB, I reached the pyramid.

what do I do there?
See the throne? Ok, in front of the throne there is a gold square with a dot in the middle. That dot is a redpower transposer, it will 'eat' anything you throw (Q by default) to it. If you throw the right things (normal mode, look at the colored boxes on the walls, insane mode, look at the 9 signs in each tube) lights will pop up. You win when all the lights turn on. One (or two) of the places along the walls will have a cable; you need to feed it a certain amount of energy through that cable.

WARNING: FTB uses NEI locked in utility mode. If you try to drag items out of your inventory to the right, you will instead delete them! Check that you didn't do this before complaining that it didn't work, or you will be laughed at.

I've been trying to play with the mods direwolf has been playing with, mainly because I feel all the technic mods are outdated, but failed. Anyone know if someone took all these mods and put them into one download for easy install? Like a folder with files you dragon into jar, and a folder with files you drag into the mod folder?

An easy way is to just use Technic. I wanted updated mods, so I just deleted the old versions and copied the new ones into their places. You can also add mods not in Technic.

It does require some ID tweaking, but it all seems to work.

I'm on a quest to singlehandedly break as many of the mods in Technic that can be legitimately broken. I feel I'm making good progress. A show of hands. Who else out there runs their entire base off of cows?

I could do that for you. Would take me about 12 minutes probably. 17 if I also test it.

I'll do it later when I get home.

Thank you. I guess you have all the mods already. Would take waaaaay more then 12 minutes to download and move all of them.

Also, about the cows. I thought they had a limited amount of milk/stew? Last time I milked a cow (maybe a year ago) I could get 1-3 buckets out of them. Then no more.

Milk from one cow eventually filled up all of my generators and is keeping them filled.

Are you milking yourself or using a deployer?

That might somehow bypass the check for overmilking.

Deployer. I know deployers have problems with bowls. If you tell one to keep multiple bowls on hand, each time it deploys, it destroys all but one bowl.

Then again, I just tested on a spare cow. Staring at it with a bucket in hand and holding down RMB causes you to drink a continuous stream of milk. I got up to fifteen buckets before deciding to do something slightly more productive. That's good enough for me.
