Play peaceful, be unable to make TNT or Bows or Bonemeal, rage.
This is modded minecraft, we can grow string, gunpowder and bonemeal.
There are even bees for string and gunpowder!

So it seems I accidentally put my canteen in my wheelbarrow and didn't notice... and then I got really thirsty... so right before going to sleep I go to take a swig from my canteen and... end up snorting a line of low-grade meth.

The funny thing is if you started with an EE philosopher's stone along with the minimod which adds in the old philosopher's stone transmutes you could eventually work your way up to all the top tier stuff from every mod on a flatlands map with no villages.

I'm sure a number of people who are heavily interested in the big mods that are repeatedly discussed in this thread probably follow direwolf20. On the chance that you're not, there's a great new show out. Wrenched is currently 2/3 of the way through its first episode. Take a gander. Go ahead, I'll wait.

Now tell me you wouldn't want to take part in a show or two of that.

Yeah, watched the first couple of minutes. Immediate thought was "build deploying frames machine that picks up the reactors in the floor and moves them to opponent's ring, and then detonates."

I can already see a variant. Give them castles, instead, a distance apart, and make them build self-moving machines to go and destroy each other. Probably a longer build period, though.

I must admit to being slightly disappointed at the method of dismissal. They flip off the lights and the loser leaves. I was expecting something involving meltdowns destroying the contestant's construction (and optionally the contestant as well).

So, uhm, I'm getting up to speed with a tekkit server and reading about the forestry internet drama.

If I were to use any other mod, like mine factory, how do I go configuring client with the launcher?

Ah god, i just had this awesome idea about a total conversion mod for minecraft.

Change the generator to generate huge, adbandoned cities and make minecraft a zombie-survival game.
Restrict destroying blocks if you dont have the right tools, remove creepers, skeletons and spiders, make more zombies, allow you to make barricades, need for water, loot can be found in a non-decaying-not-in-chest form...

Imagine how awesome that would be.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

that was a luky dwarf. I had one dabbling surgeon fail so spectacularly that the patient skull flew a tile away from the table.

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

And instead of abandoned mines, it creates abandoned subways, full of zombie spiders!

Zombie spiders! Just like regular spiders, except zombies.

Heard of MineZ?  Not exactly what you're looking for, but similar enough that you might be interested.  It's based off the Arma mod DayZ, which I've never played.

Found out about it through this video series, if you're interested.
