A Macabre Request.
« on: March 20, 2012, 09:07:24 am »

This is less moding and more a little edit.

Can someone instruct me how to modify the game so that Humans/Elves/Dwarves/Goblins/etc (basically humaniods) are butcherable?
Its for adventure mode if that makes a difference.

Thanks.

Open entity_default.txt in the raws.  In the dwarf entry, find the morals.  [MORALS:BUTCHER_SENTIENT:ACCEPTABLE] is what you want to change.  I'm sure that's not the exact words, but you can figure it out.  Very easy to change.

They still won't butcher dwarves, they'll bury them.

Does that word for Adv mode?

No.  Sentient creatures cannot be butchered in Adventure mode, even if you change the raws.  This is hardcoded.

Wait, couldn't you butcher sentients if you were VERY hungry in earlier versions? Has someone tested it in .34?

As I recall can't you use the bones of rotted dismembered limbs once all of the flesh is gone?
If so, just dump elves in a disc trap room and get grinding.
Will it blend: the hippie edition.

Imagine the will it took to create a fortress like this. And what have you elves built? Nothing. You can only loot and break. You're not dwarves!! You're just termites at Versailles.

It's not that I don't suffer, it's that I know the unimportance of suffering, I know that pain is to be fought and thrown aside, not to be accepted as part of one's soul and as a permanent scar across one's view of existence.

not sure if this would work but you could make a copy of the dwarf creature remove the tags that make it inteligint and then make reagular dwarfs drop its corpse as an item corpse
