Coolest dwarven titles (no name modding)
« on: March 18, 2012, 08:05:38 am »

So I've just encountered three goblins on my first ambush of my current fort, with two of my decently skilled, decently armored dwarven soldiers.

One was an hammerdwarf, and a mother of two, carrying her latest baby into the battle.

Obviously the baby didn't made it, but then the axe lady just slain two of them.

And earned a title.

Mafol Shotreined then therefore became Mafol Shotreined, the Abyssal Negator of Burning.

Bad. Ass.

Now let's see if the rest of the ambush will earn my 8-dwarf military more titles...

Sounds like a good name for a band.

Does the titles include squads?
If so, my best was The Carnages of Dye

I had a dwarf called Tun Gravelappear, the Hairy Apex of Cudgels.  I choose to believe he was a legendary macedwarf, he just had to be.

My current primary squad is called "The Helms of God". Awesome.

Problem with squads is that you can change the name until you get a cool name, that's what I do anyways.

I have a spearmaster with an anti-cool name: "Limul Lolokral the Mountainous Guise of Failing."

I get worried every time I send him into combat.

Socks inspire the same sort of emotions in dwarfs that Helen of Troy inspired in the Achaean Greeks. Although it is said that Helen's face launched a thousand ships, socks have surely launched a million ultimately-fatal Store Owned Item tasks.

Okay then, as squads don't count, here's some proper names culled from the very same squad:

"Kel Bavastzon Thidasegstak Ilir" translates to "Kel Glidedhelms the Frilly Eviscerator of Joy"
"Deduk Alathtosid Zelerkez" translates to "Deduk Boltsarmor THE PRIME NEGATOR"

I also have some cool weapon names too:

A shield that killed a Fox Fiend deity human diplomat (read: demon in disguise), garnered the name "Shasadistam" which translates to "The Musical Light".

A steel battleaxe that has 22 kills in its history, amongst which is a minotaur, has been affectionately named "Therlethnakuth Maskir Cagith" which means "Snakebraid the Equivalence of Crying".

Or if you want something a little more crude, Atastgur, another steel battle axe but with 46 notable kills and 15 others translates to "The Brave Bowels".

I think Deduk definitely has the best of that little lot :)

My only name worth remembering was "Dana Monsterdemon the Demon of Fighting"

Unsure if it was Dana for the first name, but it's something like that.

I don't. At the moment I have five squads;

The Mechanical Canyons; my MCom's Marksdwarfs.
The Creative Tomes; first melee squad.
The Metals of Disembowelling; second melee squad.
The Bows of Barricading; second marksdwarf squad.
The Shafts of Roughness; my Guard Squad.  Especially the second squads' names are AWESOME.
