I've been running it on windows 7 for about a year now. The only problem I've had is due to the lack of multi-core optimisation, but it's an old enough game that the tiny performance drop I get is hardly noticeable.

Even if it ran at 3 FPS, I'd still consider it one of the better city building games to date.

And a lot of other people would disagree. Not risking an nonrefundable game.

SC4 is $10 and works fine on Windows 7.

People told me that about Fallout 3.
They were wrong.

Honestly it is what I find often annoying about people giving game purchasing advise.

It is less advise and more then are trying to sell the game to you as if they were making commission.

So yes... DO NOT take people's word at face value in a topic dedicated to the game.

SimCity 4 was laggy for me but changing to the software renderer fixed it.

Internet has tutorials to make it run better (basically it's one of those games whitelisting good graphics card and you'll have to add your own but I never bothered)

I think they were all just saying, like my experience too, that they have Windows 7 and have had no problems with the game. It might only use one of my four chips. But one of those chips is pretty skilled at processing stuff.

Eh? Fallout 3 does work fine on Windows 7 64-bit. Could it be your hardware? I just ran FO3 again on my win7 machine to confirm. o.o

Nah, because I can run NV just fine. It's definitely a software compatibility issue.

Yes, It makes sense if you think about it. Nobody smart enough to use windows would use GfWL on there computer, only people with macs or linux(Mostly macs, Linux is cool :P) would use this horrendous piece of shit.
