I had no problems running multiple turns without reloading so far. The one mistake that I had to deal with was my own fault.

The first turn. It even happened after restarting my computer. It had an easy fix, though: updating Flash.

Good news, everyone! I've implemented better support for alternate rulesets. Now, when you make a map, you can plug in an absolute URL pointing to a ruleset XML file. The URL is saved in the game XML, so you don't have to worry about getting the right one in every time.

...or at least, I think I have. I've tested it using relative URLs to find an XML file in the same folder, and using an absolute URL to link to an XML file in a different folder. I have not, however, tested to see if it can access a ruleset stored on someone else's dropbox, or on a different server entirely. If someone with easy access to a different server would like to try it, I encourage them to do so.

On a related note, I have now uploaded two rulesets:
version 0.1
version 0.1.1

Most of the syntax should be clear enough, I think, although there's some functionality - mostly special ability types - that I'm not currently using. If anyone has any questions, let me know.


On a completely unrelated note, Azthor, I still need your turn, and you still haven't posted a working turn 9.

Vanigo: Modding out the ability to build pastures was easy enough, and hosting rules on my own dropbox seems to work fine. Your 0.1.1 ruleset seems to be broken, though.

Ah, fixed. Just had the wrong code in a unit special tag. There was also an issue with some of the improvements having broken tags in the <builton> section, which I fixed in my version of the files.

Edit: Okay, I added a little basic error-catching in the initial load. It should give you fairly understandable error messages when the game rules or the game state don't load right.

Also, there seems to be a glitch in my game:
I am unable to build a farm at Tile (3,2) (the game is saying that I am unable to build a improvement there), even though I built a new city within two tiles, and have had the tile under my control for a long time.

Lemon10: Size 2 and 3 cities can only improve the eight tiles adjacent to themselves, while Size 4 cities get the fat x shape two tiles around themselves.
