Collectomaniac habits of your adventurers?
« on: February 27, 2012, 10:20:14 pm »

Do you have some favourite items you pick up and hoard for whatever (if any) reason? Maybe it's teeth or ears? Coins to throw as ammo? Brains and spleens?

My current adventurer, I find I'm collecting silver short swords from all the kobold/bandit ambushes I fend off. I have no idea why, I've led many a hapless follower to their death and looted their corpse so I've no need for money. Maybe at one point I had wanted to use them for style points as throwing ammo but then I found a necromancy tablet in an empty keep so it became irrelevant.

I also make a habit of picking up mementos of followers who built up 5+ kills. Their weapon and a sample of their blood, the latter being stored in waterskins/flasks/quivers. It's nice to see the titles of your best followers in one waterskin.

Vermin. Backpacks full of rats and cardinals.

Those used to be my throwing weapon of choice, back before I discovered bolts and knapping. I like to collect the human/elf/dwarf trophy items off the vampires I kill.

I collect zombie companions.
Lord of Keep: "I implore you, please go and vanquish [big bad megabeast with kill list]."
Lord of Keep: "It would honour me if you took some of my soldiers with you on this quest."

No problem m'lord, I'll just go outside and 'wake up' everyone my 'current companions' have 'accosted'. Oh and I'll even clean up their inventories so you don't have to worry about cleanup work.

On that note, fast travelling with 200+ zombies makes a nice square packed with undeads. If you appear in the middle of a market, they'll slowly start spreading out, leaving a trail of corpses. It's pretty cool, you end up reanimating 80+ corpses in one gesture.

I keep odd esoteric items in my pack to throw at people and to attempt to eat later on (the objects! not the people!).

some of the best items i had at one point was a sponge corpse (THEY CAN BE KILLED?!) a lead cage (because screw the Geneva convention) and a legendary mitten I found on the body of a titan.

I almost always forget just what is in this pack of wonders and after my inventory gets rearranged and I go looking for water (Which I always presume is the same button as I left it, out of naive-ness) I'm always in for a fun little suprise.

You've been mentioning that bomb allot, how do you re-kill all hundredsomething bodies after a fight anyway? I never manage to generate towers so I dont know how the mechanics work.
