Migrants with Knives
« on: February 26, 2012, 08:29:17 pm »

So this dude decides to migrate to my fortress. And he's carrying a bronze boning knife.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I've heard that in adventure mode boning knives are awesome. Is this the case? He also has a coin pouch. Unfortunately, he is remaing standing at the edge of the map, and I can't draft him into the military. What do I do to him?

Copy save, check legends.  Only night creatures are known to wield boning knives.

Will he have the same name in legends?

Civilian knives are OP because they have such a small contact area, so they can punch through anything.

Still civilians though. This might have something to do with the random merchants just hanging out on the map edge bug :/

I've seen that in my current fort. It was very handy, since the first ambush uncloaked to take out the stranded merchants and gave me plenty of time to button up. :)

Have them killed. Nothing solves a problem quite as effectively as simply having it killed.

A second one came, then I set the military on them.

... then I set the military on them.
Now we get to find out if this induces a loyalty cascade. :D

It didn't. Unfortunately, I seem unable to get other dwarfs to equip the boning knives.
