Because I felt I had to...
This is a extremely well-made Iron Journal. Its pages are protected by the iron cover. Hardcover, indeed.
Hi there journal.
This is the second journal I've ever had, and it's a lot better than the previous one. At least now it WON'T be sliced apart when some random sucker takes a pot shot at me with a goddamn... What was that thing, anyway? I could discern a serrated steel disk, but it was flying at an unbelievable speed. It would be cause for an investigation, if it weren't so extremely dangerous. Now, where was I? Ah yes, I've just woken up. To my right is an shark of an unknown, blue, light mate- Adamantine. Great, now I'll be seen as a masterful metalworker. Everyone needs that. Ah, nothing to do abou- DID THAT THING JUST MOVE? Oh Armok above, I know I've never been that religious and all, but PLEASE tell me this isn't going to get any worse. At least it isn't trying to bite me. That's hopefully a good thing.
Now, to my right... Crap. Crap. Crap. Have I mentioned crap yet? Yes, I'm THAT deep in. There is a HOLISTIC FRIGGING SPAWN standing next to me. It's not trying to kill me (yet), it hasn't even moved. That's what makes it so creepy. Has ANYONE ever woken up next to a holistic spawn? Gods, not even Fischer- Wait, who was that again? Superdwarf from a fortress nearby? Breakspearers? It doesn't matter. I've gotta get there. They'll hopefully know what to do with a spawn, if they haven't been wiped out yet... Or with a giant flying shark. Armok be damned if I ever wanted a drink like this.
So, it has been a day, journal.
The Spawn seems to be non-hostile, following me around wherever I go. So does the shark. It's really creepy, really. Imagine a hundred pound monstrosity of flesh and bone and a technological wonder made out of the metal of Armok himself following you around. Trying to take a piss was never so easy, if only it didn't end up in my pants every time...
Anyway, I'm on my way to that fortress. What seems to be worse is that in the plains I'm currently travelling over, it rains blood. Human blood, as far as I know. Elves' blood is a little lighter, dwarves' blood is a little darker and I don't even know what a Holistic Spawn's blood looks like. I'm not going to try and find out for myself by experimenting on the Spawn following me around.
I've set up camp in the Plains Where It Rains Human Blood (name pending), journal.
It's been a long day. I'm going to try and get some sleep, if possible while these two are watching me. It's seriously hard to relax when there are two pairs glow-in-the-dark eyes watching you. One pair yellow, the other one blue. Have I mentioned that the Spawn breathes really loud? And of course, every time that shark moves, it sounds like someone's rasping two blades against eachother. Horrible sound. Accompanied by the blood staining my tent (which I didn't even know I had), tomorrow is gonna be fucking great.
Oh, and I haven't introduced myself yet, journal.
The name's Tomio.
