I Need Help

I know you're all going to yell at me for being such a noob but I have a question.

How do you use stairs and trapdoors?

And if you write "Oh it's so simple you're such a noob, blah blah blah" I'm just blocking you.

Just please help a guy out.

-Stand at the location of the stairs you wish to use.
-Press '<' or '>' to move up and down.
-Try not to get hit in the head with an arrow immediately upon arrival at your destination.

Or [SHIFT] / [CTRL] in the direction you're moving using numpad/arrows, or [ALT] move

On the ground but not inside houses or keeps, unless they have like a dirt or sandy floor use g to pickup

on the spaces that look like they are rocky :D
mostly places that dont look like they are grass or sand, dirt looking places sometimes have rocks tho
